When Sarah Silverman introduced Senator Bernie Sanders to an energized crowd of 27,500 people in Los Angeles, POLITICO ran a piece that same day titled Clinton asks staff to turn over email server, thumb drive. On the day Bernie Sanders drew a crowd of 4,500 supporters in Reno, Hillary Clinton answered a question with the now legendary statement, "What, like with a cloth or something?" Several days after Bernie defeated Hillary in the informal Iowa State Fair poll, The New York Times ran a headline with the words, Judge Says Hillary Clinton Didn't Follow Government Email Policies.
There are countless other examples illustrating the different trajectories of both Democratic challengers, and nationwide polls are finally beginning to reflect this reality. Even FiveThirtyEight now says We Got Berned, and while concerns about name recognition and polling among minority voters still exist, only Bernie Sanders has a Racial Justice platform praised by Black Lives Matter, and only Vermont's Senator has the support of Cornell West, Killer Mike, and Lil B.
Senator Bernie Sanders will win the Democratic nomination in 2016 not only because he can type an email without nationwide controversy, but also because he's exhibited a monumental surge in the polls. This ascent within the hearts and minds of Democrats began several months ago, and will only continue with greater name recognition.
According to HuffPost Pollster, Clinton's lead over Sanders among Democrats was an astounding 60.1 percent to a mere 4.9 percent on March 2, 2016. By August 26, 2015 Bernie Sanders surged all the way to 23.4 percent while Clinton fell to 47.1 percent. America should finally start to notice a political "revolution" in the making, especially since most Americans still don't know much about Sanders, yet he still continues to rise in the polls.
Once he's given the attention he deserves from media and political pundits, Bernie Sanders will become even more popular among voters. In a matter of months, he surpassed Clinton in New Hampshire. Sanders is now within 7 points of Clinton in Iowa and the Vermont "socialist" beats Trump easily in a general election. While Sanders has drawn crowds totaling over 100,000 people, Hillary Clinton is forced to discuss the FBI's investigation of her emails. In terms of momentum, which is the most important aspect of ever-changing polls, Bernie Sanders is on his way to overtaking a Clinton campaign embroiled in controversy...

(13,071 posts)Clinton has had nothing but bad press--not her fault. Anything she does is twisted into something ugly. Those who don't like her want her to fail and so regurgitate the bullshit as if fact. Just like Obama, just like Bill C. and just like Bernie if his time comes.
Sanders has had zero scrutiny. It is purposeful. The sheep follow the talking points down the porcelain bowl and is taking out country with them. The wolves are waiting for the opportune time.
The idea that the more scrutiny he gets, the stronger he will become is not accurate. He will be attacked from every angle. And it will be devastating.
Clinton is strong, smart, and has the values that America needs right now.

(12,471 posts)right here from the Democratic Party, and its shills.
People who say he is too old, his hair is a mess, he is a socialist, and he can't win.
Expect to see more of these as primaries get closer, and when Bernie wins the nomination, there will be the same kind of stuff coming from the RepubliCONs. I would recommend that some of the folks here on DU could do a good job in advising the Cons. Perhaps some already are doing so.

(15,435 posts)Got back and have been catching up on all my paper work that our PC's were supposed to cut down on! I thought by putting stuff on my PC it would stop or at least trickle (heh, heh) down. Now we get bombarded by anyone running a sale! Big Brother knows all.
Anyway, been out of the loop and I come back and see that Bernie keeps gathering steam and yet STILL this country is STUCK ON STUPID! Our very own Democratic Party seems not to want to listen to what so, so many of us are saying AND want! I'm not one to who cares much about what is probably the faux email stuff about Hillary, I have my own personal perspective on why I'm not supporting her. But, not only does this country seem to be stuck on stupid The Democratic Party is acting like an ostrich with it's head stuck in the sand!
Don't get me started on the WITCH Debbie Wasserman Schultz who I never could understand the reasons behind her becoming the head of the DNC! Is she really a Democrat???? I live in FL so it's easy to stay depressed. I bought Bernie shirts some time ago and bumper stickers that are on my car and get "Go Bernie" comments all the time. And I live in a VERY Red county!
Perhaps there are threads here that have a game plan as to how we can make The Democratic Party understand that "we the people" want some fairness. I admit I haven't delved into DU threads a lot since I got back, but I simply don't understand why even the most liberal Democrats are beating the drum for Hillary and ignoring so many of us! Well, I do understand but it infuriates me that my Party has joined the OLIGARCHS!
Is it still a possibility to draft someone at the convention?? Would they allow it? I know I'll have to vote for Hillary but I hate having to do it just to keep the other side from completely ruining America. How a nation has fallen so far is an outrage, but worse how the people of this country think living in La La Land is just fine! AND I include my very own family who are DEMOCRATS who think I need to ENJOY life and not worry! Oh, the thoughts I have about what I wish would happen... but really would never want to. Just thinking bad thoughts out loud.
OK, this chapter is done for now, have a lot bottled up!

(13,071 posts)If they wanted Clinton, they would be attacking Sanders and giving Clinton a pass, thereby upping her popularity. They are attacking her because they know that Sanders could never win a general election.

We don't vote for presidents or nominees nationally, so national polls are more of a beauty pagent. And, even so, those polls show Clinton on a downward trend and Sanders on an upward trend.

(33,497 posts)So far he's winning the presidency of New Hampshire. A state he now must win to continue in this race. What national polls have him ahead of Clinton? So far I haven't chosen a candidate, so this isn't some Clinton supporter asking this. I like all the candidates and actually hope Biden also makes a race.
