Republicans are defining our candidates ... again

And much of America is buying it. Republicans have mastered the art of framing issues. We suck at it.

Hillary’s emails are about as big a “scandal” as Benghazi, but Republican propaganda is trying to raise it to the level of Watergate. In the eyes of Republican voters, Hillary is an evil witch. And far too many Dems have bought into it.

They haven’t turned their heavy artillery on Bernie yet. They’re waiting to “finish off Hillary” and then go after the “Commie-Jew-Stalin-lover, who will destroy America.”

O’Malley and the others aren’t on anyone’s radar yet, but if they somehow become visible, they too will be framed as a “threat.” If Joe Biden jumps in, they'll call him “mentally and emotionally unfit because of his son’s death.”

It goes without saying that the media is complicit in peddling the GOP’s framing of issues. Meanwhile, they have over a dozen candidates selling snake oil, but the media won't call them on it.

Republicans framed Obama as a “Kenyan, Muslim, Manchurian Candidate,” but enough of us showed up at the polls to beat them. And we must do it again no matter who our candidate turns out to be. The real threat to this country is today's deranged Republican Party.

3. Are you trying to assert

that the media wouldn't cover Democratic Party debates because I think they would. It would give them something else to talk about other than Trump and emails.

6. I would be "implying" that, to put it more accurately. Am I really? Interesting misinterpretation.

What I am really implying is, responding to the topic of the OP, that the corporate media are going to act like every other corporation in negative coverage for all Democrats and the opposite for the fascists....which is implying the entire media system is as corrupt as the political and financial systems....which is implying we may be all fucked....which is implying we should just give up....which is implying I agree...which is not accurate.

where I suggested debates would give them something else to talk about. I'm not disagreeing with your point about corporate ownership of the media but, sans something else to talk about, they remain fixated on Trump and emails.

11. Who do you think mae it possible for the corporate media to have so much power?

Look at ownership patterns since Media Deregulation of 1996 removed the limits on how much media any one corporation could own.

I'll give you a hint. The last name begins with "C"

Rove and Ailes planned this crap long time ago. Notice the ownership changes in many of the Radio/TV stations in the last year. And the new ownership groups tend be hard core Right Wing Funders and promoters.

...and folks think Hillary will be the next President. I don't think they know anything about Bernie except that he has brother who lives here and who came in 5th place when running for Parliament. He did so bad he finished behind the UKIP guy and lost his £500 deposit. He was preaching Bernie's message, but it didn't seem to go over well from his showing.

doing Trump jokes. I stopped laughing when two bigots beat up an Hispanic man in Boston last week. Trump's only reaction was that "... people get passionate." He's really brought out the ugly side of the GOP. Although that ugly side was always apparent to anyone who wanted to see it.

Anyhow, enjoy the U.K. A pub sounds like the perfect place to be.
