Here in NE Ohio our beloved five term congressman Tim Ryan has found yet another contender this year from the local Tea Party. Past attempts have gone down 2 to 1, and there's no reason to believe this fall will be any different, but this is the most idiotic foray into House politics yet.
Marisha Agana is a local pediatrician who has only one goal: repeal "Obamacare". She has said in her announcement to run that she will "repeal Obamacare on her first day in office". That's it, she has no other motive for running, she just wants to end the Affordable Care Act. She hasn't explained how a freshman congresswoman from Ohio can do what hundreds of Republicans have failed at, but the rabble has been roused.
She is so dedicated to this single cause that she says after she votes to end the health care act she will return on a full time basis to her private practice. Republicans here seem thrilled that she'll not be in Washington representing Ohio's 17th as long as they won't have to go on government health care, but common sense reasoning has never been a prerequisite for the 30% GOP registration in the Mahoning Valley.
Apparently, her message is that she's so small government she won't even do her job if elected. I strongly suspect Ms Agana is terrified she'll look out in her waiting room one day soon and see poor people.
The bar for stingy self centered Republicans has been raised America.
