I think there is something we need to take into account in the next months.

Someone just posted in the Hillary group about derisive discourse between the posters in the candidate forums. I tried to respond but have been blocked from the Hillary group a few months ago for having the temerity to ask some possibly uncomfortable questions. I wasn't aware at the time how the groups tolerate No dissent. No big deal. I can live with it but...we at DU need to understand that, like millions of other sites of this nature,(O.K., DU is special) DU is ANONYMOUS! Pretty much ANYONE can post here and there are people who get paid to stir up shit. They are here to disrupt and cause animosity between us.

Heres the deal. I'm a big time Bernie supporter but like most of us, I will support Hillary if she is the nominee. I expect most of the Hillary camp would support Bernie if he gets the nomination. What? You're gonna vote for Walker?

All I'm saying is lets be respectful of all of our candidates and don't take the flame bait from the trolls

There are facts, and the past and the history.

If one side denies the past and the history it makes for bad discussions and causes ill-feelings. We are here to discuss not cuss.

Some here seem to feel the deal is done and anyone questioning their desired outcome is somehow not being a good Democratic party member.

It is a form of bigotry to do so, and it should cease.

There is too much shit tossing going on but factual, inquisitive posts get labeled as shit tossing when they clearly aren't. I have no solution other than to passively ignore and respond to those that seem rational.

If they want to use their group to post meta and nasty attacks on other DUers let them. Some folks are here to discuss the candidates, others are using the primary as a reason to go after people they don't like. Calling another candidate or their supporter names is just par for the course.

The Bernie group doesn't allow that kind of op, fyi. It's full of positive threads and great info on our candidate.

The O'Malley group also rocks.

I hear ya, though. I stay out of positive threads about Hillary in GD P, don't post flame bait or link to right wing sites. I try not to take the bait but my will power isn't what it used to be.

with the inability to make our boundaries and not those dictated by the looney lying GOP or MSM. The anti-candidate offerings by the GOP are almost entirely fantasy based for maximum hate results. No need to even go there except this is to note the excrement being thrown on the Democratic wall to obscure reality.

The second is using the more moderately memed slant and blindness of the MSM or various polls(polls have to be tediously justified themselves) as if this is really saying something. As ammo no less.

The third finally gets to the real candidate records, policies and chances which could be done without the need for scorn, one-upping, cherry-picking, take downs, but of course can't happen. Still if we could forego the useless realms of the GOP it would be better. Most GOP Hillary haters believe in lies and never get to hear criticisms of her real record or policies, especially if they agree with them. Nor do they want ANY discussion of her actual merits. Only the First Woman President meme serves as a barrier to any serious discussion- which would be the death of all GOP campaigning.
We have issue trolls aplenty who engage in more subtle mendacity, baiiting and discouraging, where you realize even a battle of facts and values becomes quite a drain.

My best guess for productive posting? Build up your rivals for the virtues and strengths they have. Offer advice even. You don't have to eat humble pie over some doubt about your own candidate, but show there is some logic in all your enthusiasm. Sanders is offering an atypical platform that the entire rest of the process ignores with extreme prejudice. That, while most do nothing to the absurd brainwashing that cripples so much of the electorate. Past candidates who received some recognition for a progressive championing include Dean, Edwards and Kuchinich and regardless of the candidate the message of the sane majority has been more and more buried. That defeat of the Democratic agenda takes place here when time is wasted on trashing any spokesperson or trying to make them the Messiah.

Sat something nice about the "other candidate" something substantive, hopefully sincere. We know the vices better than the DU virtues.

Build up, build up and downticket is also crucial for our very lives.

I see a lot of this meme:

"Oh No Bernie-Sanders People are Harassing Us by Posting things On Public Internet Forums.
Quick Everybody Rally Around Hillary and Take a Stand Against the Bernie Bullies!"

It's worked in the past So expect them to keep going back to that well.

I just looked up that post and it was a whole blog thing on the Huffington Post about how Bernie Sanders fans are harassing and bullying people on the internet. Hundreds of words and then at the bottom the evidence is this one facebook post:

This is what they call bullying:

I hope this isn't an indication of who Dr. Jane Goodall will be supporting in the U.S. Presidential election. Please, please take a look at what Bernie Sanders is all about before jumping on board with Hillary Clinton. Bernie is the real deal, genuine, consistent, and always fighting for the average American, what's right and fair, and not tied to big money interests. Hillary Clinton is very much in the pocket of Big Money including oil companies that are threatening the environment and against measures to combat climate change. Bernie Sanders has put addressing climate change at the forefront of his platform, along with fighting income inequality and reforming our political system. #FeeltheBern #Bernie2016
