Today: Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton speak to Urban League in Fort Lauderdale

July 31, 2015

FORT LAUDERDALE — Five presidential candidates are scheduled to speak between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. this morning to the National Urban League’s annual conference.

Democrats Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley and Republicans Jeb Bush and Ben Carson will address the civil rights organization.

Bush will remind the predominantly black audience that he removed the Confederate flag from the Capitol grounds in Tallahassee when he was governor.

Her talk wasn't covered, but it's been described on CNN as "fiery" - directly addressing Jeb Bush and his SuperPAC. I'm sure highlights, if not the entire transcripts, will be available sometime soon.

.

Will he remind the predominantly black audience that he scrubbed the voter rolls in 2000 and in that scrubbing a lot of eligible black voters were prohibited from voting in the 2000 election?

...from the voter rolls, and big brother won Florida by a mere 500 votes.

Had he not disenfranchised those 65,000 I'm sure Gore would have won by THOUSANDS of votes.

Will he remind then that in his first gubernatorial campaign in which he lost he was asked what he would do for black Floridians and said "nothing."
