2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumEnough Of The Fighting Between Bernie And Hillary Supporters!
I have my own disagreements with Mrs. Clinton and I proudly support the Bernie Sanders Campaign and what he stands for. But its time to admit: all the hatred between Hillary fans and Bernie fans is bad for our party. Yes Bernie and Hillary are very different when it comes to certain issues and of course its okay to state your opinion about the other candidates, but the cutthroat attacks against other democrats ( and be honest 99% of the attacks are from Bernie and Hillary fans. I don't see O'Malley and Chaffee fans doing it) is bad for the party itself. Our differences aside, we are all democrats and we all want what is best for America. Save all of the hatred for the general election! I support Bernie but I also work for my towns Democratic Committee and I've pledged to support the 2016 Democratic candidate whoever that may be. All Dems should do the same. We are on the same boat and we can't rip each other to pieces like this. We should all commit to electing a Democrat in 2016 and stand together not apart

(6,409 posts)People get really, really, REALLY intense about their candidates. When they speak of the good attributes, they absolutely gush forth a fountain of loquacious praise. When somebody mentions a negative attribute, they scream, "Hater! Hater!" People kinda lose their minds over this.

It's message board wang waving. Who can "win" in the battle to destroy their board enemies?!
Let's find out! *mashes alert keys*
It has everything you can expect in a trafficked internet message board. Bullies who become martyrs, martyrs who become bullies, crusaders who gallop bravely into the barbaric wilderness of their home office clutching an iPad pillow in their bloodied, mailed hand, warriors bravely charging into the raging hordes of political posts and pintrest articles.
It is truly a stirring time.
Or, people just have too much time and aggression on their hands.
None of this is all that serious.

I wonder how some will explain to their less politically enagged friend that yesterday {insert candidate name} was the devil; but, today I support him/her?
And, how do we respond to their, "I thought you weren't going to do that 'lesser of the two evils' thing, anymore?" question?

(69 posts)I don't think we should be blasting candidates we may not support that are in our same party when most of us will still vote for them if they win the primary.

(27,787 posts)I always ask that question because I grew up in NE philly, near where the Roosevelt BLVD meets the Schuylkill express way ... and I often meet people who are from Allentown or Hatborrow or one of the other burbs.
I don't live there anymore, but I was just there last week.

(94,911 posts)...it's meaningless to our Party. The petty bickering that goes on here is from a marginal subset of actual Democratic Party voters, and the average voter has no idea whatsoever that this squabble is occurring, much less cares about it.
