Hillary will probably win in 2016 but...

it's not necessarily not a good thing. The repubs will probably still control at least one part of congress so her re-election achievements will be limited. That's a problem even more complicated by the fact that Obama has sucked all the air out of the room in terms of big domestic democratic achievements. This means that she'll have to focus on foreign policy. We might have to intervene against ISIS on her watch which won't be popular long term and Hillary has shown herself to be hawkish and willing to sacrifice long term policy for short term political gain with the Iraq vote. She's been involved in politics for so long that she will have a short honeymoon. It'll be hard for her to win in 2020 even if none of what I'm saying comes to pass just because it's been 70 years since a party won 4 straight elections.

1. Her honeymoon is over and she hasn't even announced her candidacy yet

People are starting to remember the endless parade of Clinton scandals that marked the 1990's and aren't anxious for a rerun.

2. The parade of mostly bullshit Clinton "scandals"

Ken Starr spent 40 million investigating Whitewater and came up with nothing. Monica was BS as far as impeachment goes. Vince Foster was a suicide. Sad but not HRC's fault in any way.

It was just one tempest in a teapot after another stirred up by the RW media.

4. Why hasn't Obama's tenure been marked by the same "scandals"?

I'll tell you why, there is no there there. Obama is smart enough not to leave himself open to the same kind of crap that the Clintons have always done.

No bimbo eruptions, no questionable land deals, no suicides, no oval sex in the Oral Office, not even an instance of bumping Newt Gingrich from Air Force One. Nothing. And it isn't that they haven't tried. They've made up fake scandals for seven years and none of them stuck. The only thing that they have even come close on is Benghazi, which came under the purview of H. Clinton's State Department.

If Reagan was the teflon president, Bill Clinton was the velcro president, everything stuck to him. He left office with high approval ratings because the republicans overplayed their hand. But he gave them the openings in the first place.

If you follow the right wing media, or even some of the MSM, there were the "Obama Scandals" of 2012 and 2013. They vanished back into the thin air from which Fox and Frauds manufactured them, but for a while "The Obama Scandals" was a phrase seen every day in the so-called "news."

5. The right wing is getting pretty desperate in their anti-HRC talking points.

I wonder which talking head will trot out this meme. This will be an effective right wing talking point for 2016. HRC will win in 2016 but she cannot possibly win in 2020! I say go for it! It makes as much sense as all the other tactics the right wing has tried. Sounds very similar to the McConnell obstructionism strategy which did not prevent Obama from winning reelection.

Good post. Thanks for the chuckle.

6. REPUBS GETTING DESPERATE AGAINST HRC

Yes, they are getting desperate against HRC... I will support the nominee and it looks like it might be Clinton.. lets just not get overconfident that she will win.. The good thing about what the idiots are doing against her now is they are shooting their wad pretty early.. now if this email thing came out a month before the General we would be in trouble IMO.. but there is almost two years , GOP primaries etc.. but she needs to get a good message.. Pres Obama had a good message team in 08 and 12 and a really great digital team etc .. I hope the Dems win in 16 at least the Presidency and we get back the Senate.. i say our odds are about as good as they can be in this environment, but if the GOP gets everything I don' t think the country will survive .. i just don't know.. its crazy scary..... but not enough people vote and maybe people just don't care.. but we all have to suffer if the GOTP wins it all in 16 and this time it will make Reagan and Bush look like paddy cake.. these guys are far far FARrightwing !!!!!
