This is a ransom, this is blackmail. You don’t get a bill unless Wall Street gets its taxpayer cover.

Nancy Pelosi on the House floor this afternoon. Video at link below.

Nancy Pelosi: This is ‘blackmail’

By LAUREN FRENCH 12/11/14

Nancy Pelosi is “disappointed” in Barack Obama for backing a bill she described as a form of “blackmail” on the part of Republicans.

The California Democrat objects to two provisions in the trillion dollar spending deal, including one that would roll back Dodd-Frank financial services reforms. She called the looming backdrop of a potential shutdown a form of blackmail.

Pelosi, an often loud supporter of the president, pushed back when the White House announced support for the package.

“I’m enormously disappointed that the White House feels that the only way they can get a bill is to go along with this. That would be the only reason I think they would say they would sign such a bill,” she said.

There is no way that the President and the Senate Dems should pass this bill.
If that means a government shutdown then by all means do it. Nobody wants to go back to those last year's of President Bush when the economy tanked and we the taxpayers had to bail out the banks. Nobody and that includes the people who vote in the Rs. Another part of that bill -- increasing the amount you can donate politically by tenfold.

I don't get the House Speaker. He won't pass or bring up to a vote a comprehensive immigration package because he wants to do it piecemeal (of course he didn't even do that either) but then brings up this bill, emails it late at night Tuesday, and wants it passed first thing Wednesday without anyone ready what is in it.

Senate Dems better have a backbone and vote against this bill. And the President, if that doesn't happen, better veto it.

Otherwise he looks weak and without any backbone by the Senate Dems (do you think they would filibuster any R bills if they pass this) then the next 2 years are going to be very long and the Rs are going to get what they want. The House will pass bills firstr and then hang them over the Senate Dem's heads to pass it or close the gov't down.

Need to stick by Elizabeth: We were sent here for the people NOT for Citigroup!!

Why did Harry Reid negotiate with Boehner and McConnell to get this written?
Reid needs to go. Our Faith and Hope are with the House and Senate Democrats.
