It's the kind of gimmicky appointment of an unqualified fringe liberal hero that would backfire on us.
I have a lot of suggestions that would really cause the GOP to freak out and whose qualifications to the position are above reproach. The first two that come to mind though are Nadine Strossen and Larry Lessig. What's the difference between Strossen and Papantonio? She's actually qualified to be US AG, one of the best legal minds in the world, one of the best Civil Rights attorneys alive and the former Executive Director of the ACLU.
I don't feel I need to sell Laurence Lessig's qualifications.
