Ready For Warren 'A Good Thing,' Says Barney Frank

Former Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said the group urging Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to run for president is "a good thing."

"I think it's a good thing," Frank said of Ready for Warren in an interview with The Huffington Post. "It'll help keep liberal activity going and keep some pressure on people. But I think what's also very clear — if Hillary Clinton decides to run for president, she'll be the nominee."

Warren insists she is not considering a run for president, though her denials have not stopped some groups on the left from trying to draft her into the 2016 race.

Frank, meanwhile, has made clear his support for a Clinton candidacy, appearing in April at an event encouraging her to run.

The former congressman has his name on the 2010 financial reform law, Dodd-Frank, which many liberals view as not going far enough. Warren has praised the law but also warned that it fails to solve the "too big to fail" problem for banks.

and like myself is hoping Liz or Barney do run NOT because they will beat Hillary but because they will force her to move a little to the left.

This is how it is done, and one of these people running is the ONLY way you will get someone like Hillary to move a little, not that she isnt already left on some stuff as she is, but any movement to the left on any issue is far more healthy for human beings than not.

Not as healthy for a CEO who thinks that his/her making 315 times more than his employees isnt enough and wants more.

It's much more likely however that Bernie will run and push Hillary to the left (of course in speech only).

I see this line thrown around a lot, with no apparent follow-up. How does she win States like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia, Florida, etc. where even Democratic voters aren't as progressive as DU?
