So is President Obama going have to make some last minute changes to his

cabinet picks in order to get the media off his back regarding his white male dominated cabinet picks. I think this is another media driven, non-issue issue. But I guess the President has no one to blame but himself, since had he followed through and nominated Susan Rice, as his first cabinet pick as Secretary of State, this probably would have been a real non-issue rather than a manufactured non-issue. FTR (wink wink) I know President Obama never intended to nominate Susan Rice so don't bore me with any responses to the contrary. (wink wink)

I also think it is disingenuous of Huckleberry and Company to claim that President Obama has no women in his cabinet when they have systematically tried to destroy every woman that he did appoint including Susan Rice, UN Ambassador; Valerie Jarrett, Sr. Advisor; Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan; Lisa Jackson, Head of the EPA; Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary Health and Human Services; Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security; Elizabeth Warren, US Senator and former Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau;, to a certain extent, even Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State; Shirley Sherrod Georgia State Director of Rural Development for the United States, Hilda Solis, Secretary of Labor (accused of falsely reporting the labor reports in the months leading up to the elections), that it's a wonder that there are any women remaining at all.

1. Typical republican tactics

Do something awful, and then when it gets the results you want, blame the other side for being browbeaten into accepting it.

2. "What feminism isn’t about: Cabinet headcounts."

The feminist movement (to the extent that there is one thing that can be called that) is about bringing women’s humanity to bear on every aspect of life, and as I have noted on several occasions, President Obama has spent his Presidency expressing his dedication to feminist values. Over and over and over (and over and over) again, he has done the work and forwarded the ideas necessary to actually change the reality in which women and girls live, to not pay lip service to our humanity but to acknowledge and act on it.

In word and deed, in promise and in policy, my President has demonstrated his feminism time and again, making the country in which I live and in which my daughter is coming of age a better, more perfect union. And that is much, much more important to me than an Oval Office headcount.

The gops, as usual, are stirring up shit to cover their own War On Women. I read joe scarhead was yelling at Mika about it this morning and "later snapped his fingers at her".

3. It isn't just the gops

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.), the second-longest serving African-American congressman in the House, slammed the lack of diversity in President Barack Obama's second-term cabinet Thursday.

"It's as embarrassing as hell," Rangel said on MSNBC's "Jansing & Co." of Obama's top picks. "We've been through all of this with Mitt Romney. And we were very hard on Mitt Romney with the women binder and a variety of things."

6. Tell the media to go wipe their ass first.

Where were they when Susan Rice was being considered?

7. You're right. This really is nothing more than a media-driven, non-issue issue.

Even Krystal Ball had jumped on this bandwagon the other day on The Cycle. I fail to see what's all the commotion about, as long as whoever he nominates is best-qualified for the job. I'm black, but I could care less what color the person is who gets the job. They could be black, white, yellow, red, purple, whatever...as long as whoever gets picked can keep America out of harm's way.

8. Obama HAS females in his Cabinet...

Two that are staying are:
Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary Health and Human Services
and
Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security

And Pres Obama still has to appoint someone to replace the Secretary of Labor AND the Secretary of Commerce.

Also the Secretary of Transportation might be replaced too. There are a few women possibly being considered for that slot,

9. I know, I listed most of them in the OP and stated that this is a media driven non-issue, issue.

I was trying to make the point that the Repubs were being disingenuous by trying to raise this as an issue and the media was following in their footsteps. Stupid media.

10. Well I was just trying to answer the subject line question in the OP ...

there really is no need for Pres Obama to do any last minute 'changes' since he has female cabinet members that will stay during his second term.
I suspect he will appoint one or two more in the slots that haven't been filled yet - but that will not be due to the media or GOP pressure.

12. I think that the fact that he appointed TWO women for SCOTUS should not be overlooked

I mean, being on SCOTUS is a freakin' LIFETIME APPOINTMENT! And he's put TWO women on there!

The GOP and everybody else complaining about the "lack of diversity" in President Obama's cabinet need to go looking for their own "binders"

13. His cabinate is diverse. If Republicans can not note that the diversity includes political diversity

in the form of actual Republicans then perhaps it is not really worth appointing Republicans for the sake of diversity. Obama actually appointed a Republican who has himself in the past argued against diversity in appointments and in fact has stated that minority status can be an inhibiting factor to job performance. So Hagel votes against diversity, yet he is appointed anyway and then his Republican peers suddenly adore diversity...
This is why trying to please the GOP is like a dog trying to catch his own tail. Kicks up a lot of dust and always ends in disappointment.
