Bonus Quote of the Day

"He looked at her and got prostate cancer and quit. Giuliani just left the fight and the struggle. But quite frankly, I think Hillary Clinton was a helluva good reason to withdraw his candidacy."

-- Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), quoted by Capital New York, recounting how Hillary Clinton cleared the field in her first U.S. Senate bid, which included Rudy Giuliani.

1. He also announced he was leaving his wife on national tv without telling her.

Rudy sucks as a human being.

3. To think that there were a lot of nyc voters who voted for him 3 times. I was so glad to see him go.

4. My first mayoral election was 1997 when Ruth Messinger ran against him.

I campaigned my heart out for her, but alas the SOB won re-election.

8. My first mayoral election was in 1989 when David Dinkins beat Giuliani. In 1993 Giulani bnefitted

from the violence in Brooklyn. The death of little Gavin Cato helped Giuliani.

9. I remember that 1993 was a close race. I live in Bay Ridge, and while Obama has won here twice

I think Rudy got 80% of the vote that year in Bay Ridge.

13. I lived in Bay Ridge for 21 years. It was frustrating to be part of the same Congressional district

as Staten Island.

5. By the way, who will be running for mayour of NYC next year? Bloomberg can't run for

another term, unless he tries to get approval again.

7. Bloomberg has completely stifled any competition in NYC for the last 10 years.

Worked there until 2004 before moving to MD. Don't hear much about what's going on there. Didn't the last guy who ran against Bloomberg end up in jail (Haversi??).

ETA: At least everyone knows what Anthony Weiner's package looks like!!

10. Dammit, I missed 'the package' but I heard about it.

Boneheaded move by Weiner (so many puns, so little time), but the guy was good. I hope he's allowed to revisit ...
