I keep thinking 1945 when I think of this election

I know that we're going to win and I want to see the campaign over. However, I know that we're currently racing to establish position for the next war - the one which is decided down ballot in the House, Senate and State Governments.

Think about it. I want to see my team not only go to the World Series, but win it. They've never gone my entire life. So, with the odds favoring them, perhaps the odds will favor US as well, electorally.

We're dealing with a movement of historical danger and evil.

Trump and everything he and his hordes of vile supporters must be repudiated in three weeks.

Though there is not the sense of victory and the view for what's next, like I'm seeing now.

1860, was a failure to transition caused by a President who was not on board with the changes....

1932 was hope after failure. Obama is certainly not a failure.

However, i do get the feeling of a changing tide and the strong sense a tipping point is happening in this country - a watershed moment in the face of - let's face it fear, rejection and moral corruption.

12. Every election is different. But Trump and Goldwater will have near the same results, blown away.

The big difference is Johnson was an incumbent president.

comparisons:

1928 - Hoover follows Coolidge (Repub)
1988 - Bush follows Reagan (Repub)
2000 - Gore follows Clinton (Dem)
2016 - ?

There could be some comparison of tRump to Goldwater, but Goldwater was running against a popular incumbant. SoC Clinton is not an incumbant and does not have that advantage, though she does have the advantage of following a popular President.
