Chelsea Clinton suggest marijuana kills people

chelsea suggests pot kills people

Well, this isn't very promising.

During a recent appearance at Youngstown State University, Clinton—campaigning on behalf of her mother, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton—told a crowd of students that “anecdotally, we have lots of evidence” that cannabis is effective in treating epilepsy and stimulating the appetites of those undergoing chemotherapy treatment. But she then went on to say that there are still some public health concerns associated with pot consumption due to recent deaths in Colorado.

It's a drug and if its going to be used in treating anything, appropriate skepticism toward its effects should be presumed.

Treat it like any other med.

Oh, and find a better delivery mechanism. It smells like shit.

Anyone supporting pot as a therapeutic drug needs to understand the need for dosing properly.

I smoked pot for years in my twenties. So you can't pretend I'm some uptight anti-drug crusader.

When it's classified as a schedule 1 drug.

Look, I am a disabled vet. I suffer from PTSD, nightmares, a dibilatating injury which leaves me with almost zero quality of life. A few years ago I would start a day with a coin toss. Heads I give it another try, tails I go into the woods and don't come back out.

I live on disability through the VA and social security. Here is what I do know. If I try to use marijuana or try to grow it and get caught I will go to jail or prison. If I get arrested with any felony charge I will loose every benefit that I have through the VA.

Now, am I saying that marijuana would cure me and it would be rainbows and marshmallows if I could fire up a joint? I have no idea, because at this point it's illegal to even try.

My daughter used to take it for seizures, migraines, anxiety, OCD, Tourettes and depression. Prior to taking it she used to have terrible nightmares too. It didn't get rid of them completely, but it helped with them. She lost a friend to suicide and had a lot of emotional trauama as a result...she experienced a tremendous amount of guilt. Topomax helped her with almost everything that was going on with her. It did cause her to have some difficulty remembering words she wanted, though, but otherwise she responded great on the lowest possible dose.

My husband is a Vietnam vet who gets healthcare through the VA. He's met a few PTSD patients who swear cannabis has saved their lives. A couple have relocated here just so they can smoke legally. Most dispensaries give discounts to veterans.
I wish you the best. Marijuana is a benign drug that is proven to be effective for relief of pain and anxiety. I won't say it's a cure all, but prohibition is needlessly hurting people.

use can actually trigger the development of very serious mental illnesses like severe bipolar disorder with psychosis and schizophrenia. That is the most likely reason that the guy in Miami that ate the homeless man's face was found to only have marijuana in his system. Psychosis was likely triggered by the marijuana he smoked.

Just wanted to mention this so anyone not aware can go ahead and look it up.

As noted by others, it's a drug with psycho-active effects - people need to be careful and monitor their intake carefully until they understand how it effects them. I've found that there's a significant variation in any given person's reaction to marijuana.

Let the science and evidence be gathered before you condemn.

One thing is certain, Chelsea has said that she is 100% in favor of medical marijuana.

Elsewhere in the weekend remarks, Clinton reiterated her mother’s pledge to respect the right of states to implement their own marijuana laws without federal interference.

“She supports states making whatever choices they think are right vis–à–vis medical or recreational marijuana use,” she said.

no other drugs were involved, so there are no “interactions” to speak of.

We haven't been allowed to study this drug because of the government. All drugs have side effects and interactions with other compounds. Maybe they're not harmful in 99% of people but we won't know until we can study this a lot.

The title is hyperbole. Shame.

any drug, especially one that affects the brain/nervous system, is going to have side effects, especially for those individuals that may have underlying health problems. it can also be addictive just like alcohol or any other drug that stimulates the dopamine pathways.

also the potency can vary. it's not regulated, standardized or well understood enough. more research is needed.

it should be decriminalized, but im not sure if that is the same thing as saying it is a thoroughly healthy or good thing for society as a whole. we just don't know until more scientific studies are done.

Every day, 28 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This amounts to one death every 53 minutes. The annual cost of alcohol-related crashes totals more than $44 billion.

So when are we making alcohol illegal?

Close to 500,000 people die a year from legal smoking and 10's of thousands from drinking in wrecks and just medical issues.

But that's all good because...reasons.

How many people died last year from smoking pot????

Chelsea Clinton: FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NON-EPILEPSY SEISURE DISORDERS AND CHALLENGES, THAT WE ALSO HAVE ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE FROM COLORADO WHERE SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO WERE TAKING MARIJUANA FOR THOSE PURPOSES, THE CORNER BELIEVED AFTER THEY DIED THAT THERE WAS DRUG INTERACTION WITH OTHER THINGS THEY WERE TAKING. ONE OF THE REASONS WE NEED RIGOROUS STUDYING IS THAT WE WANT TO KNOW WHERE IT WORKS AND WHERE IT DOES NOT BECAUSE PROBABLY THERE ARE SOME AREAS WHERE IT WORKS AND AREAS WHERE IT DOES NOT. ONE OF THE REASONS THE FDA HAS SUCH RIGOROUS TESTING AND ONE OF THE REASONS OUR FDA APPROVAL PROCESS IS THE GOLD STANDARD FOR THE WORLD IS THE RIGOROUS STUDY OF NEW DRUGS AND HOW THEY INTERACT WITH OVER-THE-COUNTER DRUGS AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.
