538: Clinton Regains All Lost Ground from Yesterday

To be fair, it wasn't that much. She went from 87% yesterday to 85% but the latest update shows that minor blip is completely gone, with her back at 87%. That means that clinton is still gaining ground, even though the convention ended 2 weeks ago. I think that all clinton has to do now is stand back and watch the final stages of the Donald Trump meltdown.

Attributed to Napoleon, but probably older.

And I doubt that there will be more than one.

And I refuse to get over-confident about the debates. Bush did much better against Gore than anybody ever thought he would.

and it won't go well for him.

Hillary will put out some invisible bait and he'll come charging after it, making a spectacle of himself as he does it.

Also, the format is more strict than what passed for debates during the gop primaries. They need to get to work on the button that cuts his mic.

Standard GOP talking heads throughout the day have been noticeably reluctant to rah-rah the Trump Train. His own surrogates are straining with the latest pronouncement: President Obama is the founder of ISIS; Hillary a co-founder. They can't even follow their own logic as in, was Trump's statement factual or metaphorical? Can't have it both ways.

Plus, there's the inconvenient fact that The Donald stated we needed to get out of Iraq. Which is the argument of 'why' Obama is the founder, even though George Bush had negotiated the withdrawal. Video testimony from Trump, statements contrary to what he's saying now is hard to refute. He whole-heartedly agreed to withdrawal (back in the day), said we should declare victory and get out as soon as possible.

The wheels are coming off, fast and furiously. Not pretty.

Sad.

but one does not have to take risks when support is solid

Can't wait until Democratic surrogates hit the campaign trail in the fall
