If they can not respect the speakers at the convention, they have no business being delegates.

seem to understand a lick about public relations. Why would any Democrat with even a tiny sense of history try to drown out a speech about civil rights with chants about a trade treaty? Why not wait until someone is talking about a trade treaty? Why go out of the way to appear bigoted and/or ignorant. Even young people should know better.

They don't. It's their first convention and they think it's a Flyers/Penguins game.

From my perspective that was the most important election in world history. If Kerry won, we would have world peace, pollution would disappear, and every American would get a free puppy but if Bush won, nuclear holocaust. I think when you are young and suddenly start paying attention, you feel like everyone else has just woken up too and holy shit, the Sanders guy is amazing! There will never be anyone else like him until the end of time! We need to elect him and no one else or surely it will be the end of days! There is a lack of perspective that can distort what is important and what can wait until another day.

The divisions in the Democratic party may not be as severe as the first hours of the convention suggested. Big news events like conventions can highlight louder voices ― even if those voices don’t represent majority opinions. One recent survey by Pew found that around 90 percent of voters who consistently supported Sanders throughout the primary favor Clinton over Trump in the general election. But other data ― and the chaos Monday ― suggest the former secretary of state might have a tough time convincing many Sanders supporters to vote for her. FiveThirtyEight has estimated that about a third of Sanders supporters aren’t ready to vote for Clinton ― and that around a fifth of them will vote for a third-party candidate like libertarian Gary Johnson or Green Party candidate Jill Stein. That’s in part because many Sanders supporters were never loyal Democrats. “Before the 2016 primaries, Sanders’s supporters voted less frequently than other 2016 voters, and they were less reliably Democratic than Clinton supporters,” FiveThirtyEight reported Monday.

What say we let democratic process do its thing for a few days. I imagine more than a few of them will be won over eventually

Every asshole booing is probably on the payroll for Trump.

Or they might as well be.

If you're booing a Democrat at the Democratic convention, you are an asshole and/or a provocateur.

I wanted Bernie, but I'd have no problem with any of the people booing Elijah Cummings being frog marched off the floor, their credentials yanked and booted out the door.
