"What America Needs to Learn From Brexit"

My guess is, many Americans are wondering–what does Brexit mean for me? While the process of leaving the EU may take years, the lessons from this recent exercise in democracy are here now.

Brexit is the wake up call Americans need now more than ever.

Among the lessons Brexit teaches us: Trump could become our next President of the United States if we’re not careful.

How’s that for terrifying?

Just one of many "disgraced former Republican House Speakers" that currently populate our country.

There's more stupid people than you think - you think that's the lesson? I think we need to address the concerns of people who are working just as hard as ever and seeing their standard of living decline.

but telling them to just vote for status quo must not have been convincing, just like voting for status quo isn't very appealing to, oh, I don't know - me

That it's unfair to compete with workers from the rest of Europe even though some of it is poorer, than for American workers to compete with low wage workers in Mexico, Philippines, Vietnam etc etc. But it's hard to get a sense of the issues when everything you see just emphasizes leave voters are crazy racists who want to live in the English equivalent of Pioneer Village. As for regretting their vote, 100% of the media coverage is negative so no wonder.

is the out take, same as in 2010.

Any vote where you have a lot of high energy stupid being generated and it is not taken seriously enough by the masses who aren't full on stupid, bad things are very likely to happen.
