2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumanyone watching Howard Dean on MSNBC???
He's telling Joe S. about voting problems in Ohio and Philly. Howard said Obama would win if it was a fair vote. And Joe S scoffed and someone in the background said "he's going to lose". I couldn't tell who it was!! It seemed like they were saying if Howard is complaining about vote irregularities it means Obama is going to lose Ohio.

(1,800 posts)like I said, if you're concerned, do something about it instead of spreading anxiety.

(7,367 posts)Also, it must be a bit disconcerting to Karl and Co. knowing that Anonymous may be lurking....

(5,420 posts)I wish they had set the republicans up to expose the cheating. But they won't and it will be all about looking forward, not back, after the election. Then the same shit will happen again come 2014 and 2016.
We are not a democracy if our vote is stolen. That includes actual vote flipping as well as the dozens of ways they work to suppress the vote. It's not right. It's not American. I would say it's treason.

(22,871 posts)Should we not talk about Dean being concerned that there is election fraud going on in Ohio?

(5,420 posts)Maybe you should run over to Bradblog.com and educate yourself on this very real issue.

(7,367 posts)I did not hear what you heard. I heard "There he goes" and some chuckling. Tight shot of Mika smirking.
This is how they treat someone who helped them out a lot during the show's infancy.
update: when they signed off , Joe mockingly said that Howard Dean has reported that Thugs are intimidating voters in Philly.

(134 posts)I backed up the DVR to repeat it. It wasn't Joe who said it. It was another panelist. I am wondering if it was the R. from CA.

(6,286 posts)and I truly get both sides. But aside from calling a phone number, there really is nothing any of us can do. You've just got to hope that Obama is on it and has the right response ready if needed. I trust him to do the right thing. But the fact that we've got to deal with this at all makes me super mad.
Personally, I think Obama wins strongly enough where this is just a distant bad memory, but if it's close tonight and tempers are short, I hope we don't turn on each other too badly. We all want the same thing, except for the trolls. Some people have no one to talk to and come here to vent. Outside of DU, I don't think it has much effect.

(109 posts)good response... I saw it and Howard was deadpan flat angry serious about Ohio...and joe and mika blew him off--Howard said he had a relative that was not allowed to vote and had to cast a provisional ..all u can do is vote --get folks to vote and hope our wall is strong enough and our lawyers good enough
on the good side our 6 foot son voted as a student in Pittsburgh PA and was in out as were his friends. He reports that gratefully he was not harassed or questioned--using his student ID..

(134 posts)Asking what was said in the background of a show is "Spreading Anxiety"?? You're pretty thin skinned then. I wasn't commenting on the voter intimidation. I was wondering who had the nerve to make the comment-thought it was really out of line but Joe S is out of line lately.
