2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIs anybody besides me feeling weepy and emotional today
Every story I read, every picture I see of our president, makes tears spring to my eyes. But they are good tears for important reasons.
I think he will win. But I want it to be over, I'm tired.

(752 posts)The President and his campaign and everyone working out there, and voters standing in line, are getting it done!

(2,345 posts)Is the enthusiasm gap in between 4 or 8 hours? it has never taken me more than 45 minutes to vote. I am amazed at the stories of people who are standing in line for hours and hours.
If that is not enthusiasm, what is?
Those people are inspiring.

(392 posts)so much exhaustion of the American electorate. It seems to be unanimous, at least among Democrats, that this horrible election be over with -- as long as the President wins that is. It's been so emotionally draining, like a psychic roller coaster, I'm sick to death of it. If I never see another poll or political ad it will still be too soon.

(157 posts)Our whole future hangs on what happens tomorrow. It would make anyone weepy and emotional plus nervous as a pregnant nun. Oh God, I will be glad when this is over.
Obama will win. He has to.

(10 posts)I'm right there with you. Physically and emotionally exhausted. Still anticipating the worst, but I've always been a pessimist.

(13,069 posts)I am trying to keep busy on my day off. Coffee, baking, DU and MSNBC. I am not weepy, but...jittery!
I am confident. But, a bit fearful of suppression. I felt better after listening to Stephanie Cutter who just stated that there is no way the votes will not be counted...they have people on the ground ready to fight for every vote. I am sure she says that in part because she does not want people to feel too defeated to go vote.
Honestly, it did not occur to me that Romney had a chance of winning. The American people are too smart for that bigfatliar. But, then I think of Bush. And despite the polls and momentum and ground game, I fear suppression.
Oops...cinnamon rolls done.. must go to the oven!

(63,912 posts)the time change on top of that...been falling asleep too early and waking up too early...
Every little twitch in the polls bothers me. Joe Scar yelling "Benghazi!" over and over again really rattled me. I think Joe is going off the rails.
I can't wait to vote. I figure I'll feel better after I do. Then make phone calls and get folks who haven't voted out to vote!
