Bernie Sanders Statement on DNC PLATFORM

PRESS RELEASE

Sanders Statement on DNC Platform

MAY 23RD, 2016

LOS ANGELES – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders issued the following statement on Monday on the makeup of a key committee that will draft the party platform for this summer’s Democratic National Convention:

“We believe that we will have the representation on the platform drafting committee to create a Democratic platform that reflects the views of millions of our supporters who want the party to address the needs of working families in this country and not just Wall Street, the drug companies, the fossil fuel industry and other powerful special interests.”

Haven't been watching the news, huh? This election is just the beginning of the DLC's end. Your Presidential candidate will probably win the nomination and congrats on that. One battle won in a war that's just begun. We've already begun work on 2018 and with Pay Day Debbie's record of helping Democrats win local elections I'd say your party (for now) is in deep doo doo.

...and it is sadly disheartening and very troubling how the Democratic Party has turned its back on the issues he is fighting for...issues that same party has been espousing as core values (healthcare, environment, education, income equality, civil rights, social reforms) since I registered Democrat 30+ years ago.

As I have heard others say. I did not leave the party...the party left me. The clear bias displayed by the DNC/DWS during this election cycle and the incompetence by leadership and the organization resulting in the loss of numerous state seats and governorships over the last few election cycles demonstrates a clear and dramtic shift away from what was once a political party with a progressive platform that strived for the betterment of all and an aggressive strategy to make it happen.

Nobody else really sticks out but Tanden is a piece of goddamned work...a neo-liberal jerk who views social service programs as theft and people on them as freeloaders. She'd be much happier in the other party with her ideological twin, Paul Ryan.
