Prediction: Good Jobs Report Friday=Crickets; Bad Jobs Report=Election All About The Economy Again

Last edited Wed Oct 31, 2012, 12:54 PM - Edit history (1)

Have you noticed that the media have totally dropped their "the election will hinge on the economy" meme ever since the economic news has tilted significantly in President Obama's favor? For three years all we've heard is that the economy will be THE issue in this election. Yet all of a sudden, the economy doesn't matter, while Rmoney's "victory" in the first debate has emerged as the NEW bellwether for who will win the election.

That's why this Friday's job report will be hailed as being extremely bad news fro the President if it is bad, but meaningless to the election if it is good.

9. Just off the top of my head I think Gallup is usually quite a bit lower like maybe half a point.

I'll look a bit more.

Wonder if a tick up by .1 would have any effect

11. A tick up would not be good. That's all the media needs to get in a frenzy about this.

However, I suspect it will tick down or stay the same.

If the numbers are decent, look for the media to go into overdrive to spin the CHANGE! in the race. As in, it's been Mittmentum, just like we said, but this changes EVERYTHING!

They've started with Sandy, and they'll seal it with good jobs numbers.

It's their only hope at salvaging their reputations.
