Howard Kurtz raises the issue of the lack of media coverage on Romney's changing positions.

Howard "Reliable Sources" Kurtz waits until 9 days before the election before raising the question about why the media has not given more coverage to Romney's ever changing position on every issue that he's been running on for the past two years. Howie didn't raise the "character" issue but one of the journalists he was posing the question to did, and asks "what does this say about Mitts character" but then drops the issue as quickly as he raises it. Other responses were "I think the public believes all politicians lie"; "everybody does it"; "you expect candidates to move to the middle after the primaries"; "the Media doesn't want to be the one to call someone out as lying", etc. Howie not seeing any outrage in their responses, decides to drop the issue and NO ONE addresses the CHARACTER issue.

This issue of Romney's LYING is historical in my opinion, because if there is no consequence for outright lying, repeatedly, and this is more than your normal pivoting to the center; this is the REWRITING of history and everything in his past which Romney just denies. This establishes a precident for future campaigns when the TRUTH is now a relative, ever evolving concept. In future elections, the presidency will become a popularity contest, just another form of pop culture entertainment unlike American Idol. Candidates won't need to have any experience, any PLAN to hold them accountable to, just be a convincing liar, and able to distort the facts enough to convince that ever media chasing low information voter. We are in dangerous territory here.

The fact that Romney left his governorship with the lowest of ratings is never discussed, the fact that Massachusetts was 46 out of 50 states in job creation during his reign as governor from the guy who says he knows how to create jobs; the fact that Romney tries to take credit for school programs put into affect by Democrats 10 years before he became the Governor; the fact that Romney says that he balanced the budget in Mass when there is a contitutional mandate in Mass as in most states that they HAVE to balance their budgets; the fact that Romney ran a successful winter olympics after petitioning and receiving hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal government. The fact that the GOP party who conspired the night of the inauguration to ensure that a widely popular president would not enjoy any legislative successes even those related to formerly GOP popular positions, and than polarized the entire political process to the point where governing became virtually impossible, and then the party responsible for the OBSTRUCTION should be even this close to potentially challenging the current President is MIND BOGGLING. Again, if this is allowed to stand, our democratic process should be put on the endangered species list.

I was listening to bits and pieces of a CBS week in review thing, on a CBS owned news/traffic channel here in Los Angeles.

Part of it was, Nora whats-her-face, talking to Biden about bullshit stuff...and in a nutshell, he said to her, Mittens and Coupon Care Man have been all over the place on everything...and why wasn't she asking/talking about that!

End of segment...nothing out of the Nora.

It does virtually feel like a conspiracy, on the part of the Limp Media, to ask serious and hard questions.

The Romney campaign is only lying and flip flopping like this because they're betting the media will let them get away with it.

Our free press died decades ago when media was allowed to scoop up hundreds of papers and stations, and consolidate power.
