(In second image have "Vote No on Ballot Question 1; Vote Yes..." so it is definitely telling people how "Caring Philadelphia" thinks they should vote.)

(11,785 posts)Sending out "sample ballots" that are actually endorsements is one thing, but labeling them "official ballot"?

(9,313 posts)Seems fraudulent misrepresentation.
Perhaps what's on the other side of the flyer saves it from being completely dishonest.

This is as bad as the sample ballot in the picture.

(15,480 posts)Thus allowing pro-fracking Katie Mcginty to win primary. Fetterman's a good guy, but next to no experience and polling only 15% in the race. He takes votes away from Sestak, not corporate darling, Katie McGinty. McGinty has endorsed Clinton and has gotten over $4 million in outside money from Big Energy and the Dem. Senate Campaign Committee. That's millions of dollars which should have gone to whomever wins the Dem. primary in the general election race against GOP/club for growth, incumbent Senator Pat Toomey.
While McGinty was Rendell's appointed secretary of the state's Department of Environmental Protection,
she awarded millions of dollars of state contracts to corporate employers of her husband (a fracking lobbyist). She was investigated and censured by the state ethics commission, which warned her if she did it again, she would spend 10 years in prison. Her boss, Fast Eddie Rendell, then the governor and now a fracking lobbyist himself, appealed that ruling to the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court. The Court upheld the ruling against Katie McGinty.
Compare (1)Hillary as Secretary of State/MIC-3rd world country "donations" to Clinton Foundation/record-breaking weapons purchases approved by State Departemnt to (2) McGinty Secretary of DEP/millions in state contracts from her dept. awarded to her lobbyist husband's
Big Energy/Fracking employers. The McGintys are like Clinton mini-me's.
My latest email from Senate candidate, retired Admiral/former congressman, Joe Sestak:
Nancy,
There is a lot at stake in this election, including clean water and people's health.
Just recently, researchers at the Johns Hopkins Health Review discovered that living near a Marcellus shale fracking well may increase pregnant womens risk of giving birth prematurely:
Environmental epidemiologist Brian Schwartz analyzed birth data from nearly 11,000 babies in 40 counties in Pennsylvania. He and fellow researchers compared that data with data on nearby fracking wellsthere are more than 8,000 in the state. Living in the most active drilling regions was associated with a 40 percent increase in the likelihood of a pre-term birth and a 30 percent increase in the chance that the pregnancy was designated high-risk. - Johns Hopkins Health Review, Spring/Summer 2016 edition
Nancy, I have been a longtime, consistent supporter of a moratorium on Marcellus shale fracking until we can prove we can get it right. The EPA is forbidden from examining what they are putting into the ground, and we know that lead is used by frackers.
Despite this and other studies, my primary opponent unfortunately continues to support hydraulic fracking as Pennsylvania's secret sauce, and her campaign is partially funded by executives in the fracking industry.
In fact, in Congress I introduced legislation to close the Halliburton Loophole that allows fracking companies to keep secret the chemicals used in fracking fluid.
So when my opponent talks about fracking as Pennsylvanias secret sauce, it reinforces why I am running: to be a leader who is accountable to people above anything else.
There is a lot at stake in this election, Nancy. Please pitch in today to ensure that your next Senator is looking out for you, not special interests, and not the fracking industry.
Warmly,
Joe
Here's more about pro-fracking McGinty:
The McGinty DEP permitted 586 Marcellus Shale wells across PA, according to the DEP Permit Report. (PA DEP Permit Report) (interactive map, click Map of Latitude)Screen shot 2015-07-24 at 3.30.40 PM
McGinty was reprimanded by the state Ethics Commission for giving the pro-fracking Pennsylvania Environmental Council $2.8 million in state grants while her husband, Karl Hausker, was employed as a consultant there. In 2009, the Supreme Court upheld an Ethics Commission ruling saying Cabinet secretaries in the future should have no role in grants that benefit spouses. (Philly native Katie McGinty might be the political surprise of 2014 -Philadelphia Inquirer)
The PR firm McGinty hired to do communications for her gubernatorial campaign is SKDKnickerbocker, who also represents TransCanada, owner of the controversial Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. From 2007-2013, her husband Karl Hausker was a vice president at ICM International, which was hired by the State Department to perform the environmental review of KXL and determined it would have no significant impact on the environment. (Frackings Myriad Ties to Flawed State Dept Keystone XL Environmental Review -DeSmogBlog)
- McGintys husband, Karl Hauskers former firm, ICM International, wrote a report for the American Petroleum Institute praising shale gas exports. (Ties That Bind: Ernest Moniz, Keystone XL Contractor, American Petroleum Institute and Fracked Gas Exports DeSmogBlog)

(1,022 posts)This is payback for Sestak's not playing ball over the Arlen Specter party switch. I'm so sick of establishment Dems putting their thumbs on the scale of Pennsylvania primary races. Reminds me of Bill Clinton swooping into Bucks and Montgomery Counties during the PA Attorney General primary and parking his butt here for a week or so before the election, campaigning against Patrick Murphy (who was an early Obama supporter in 2008, pissing off the Clintons) and extolling the virtues of an unknown Kathleen Kane. We all know how that turned out. Anyone who thinks there isn't a Clinton Enemies List isn't paying attention.
I really like Fetterman, but he has almost zero name recognition here, so I'm supporting Sestak.

Even though those tests are weighted for age, since intelligence is variable, one can't accurately make that claim.
Perhaps you meant anyone with an education level above a fifth grader.
But, I like how you discount that elderly people are often deceived by charlatans and tricksters.

(5,191 posts)I'm not blaming Hillary's campaign directly, but clearly the DNC is playing BS GOP-like games with the Democratic primary process and it has to stop.
In Illinois the Cook Country Democratic Party gave out sample ballots that "accidentally" omitted Sanders name. That was no accident and there have been numerous "accidents" like this around the nation. Nickel and dime? Prehaps, but those nickels and dimes add up.
LuvLoogie
(6,999 posts)use it to guide you if you care about the "Caring Philadelphia" (whoever they are) endorsement.
But I'm sure The "Sane" Progressive and others will flag it as evidence of election rigging. Bernie couldn't possibly be actually losing. I mean look at the rallies!

(94,520 posts)Among the many definitions of OFFICIAL is "authorized or issued authoritatively". This was issued by CARING PHILADELPHIA and is their authorized list of endorsed candidates. Nowhere does it say it's from the State of Pennsylvania or the City of Philadelphia.
Sample ballots have been handed out for DECADES in Philly and in many other cities. If you want a conspiracy theory to harp on, you'll need a better one.
