(3,457 posts).15 percent in each case. Apples to apples, Einstein.
On edit: Actually Hillary's percentage was .015
Sorry for the error.

(11,243 posts)Something about apples and Einstein? Mixed metaphors that came out wrong? IDK....
The ONLY math that matters is who got more votes, how that affects the delegate count and how many more your candidate needs to win. No one cares what the percentage was in Vermont anymore. And Clinton won plenty of other states with equally huge margins, but lucky for her they were states with way more people in them

(3,457 posts)I don't know if you have the IQ level for it but you may benefit from it.

(685 posts)Divide that by the acreage of the overall state, then subtract all the left handers (because why not) and then add back in a +.02 for anyone who car pooled to their polling place you'll see that Sanders' win in Vermont was statistically greater than Clinton's in NY.
wildeyed
(11,243 posts)because that is VOTER SUPPRESSION because harder for Sanders supporters to get to the polls (she controls the wind, too, part of her 1%er super powers!), then you will see that Sanders got more double digit-y votes in VT AND actually won NY, when you consider that Albany voters are ALSO worth triple weight! Here is the mathematical formula if you want to check my work!
VT = (v)3
NY = NYCv/3+(ALBv)3 = Sanders Wins NY!!!!!!!!
I ACTUALLY saw people on FB trumpeting the fact that Sanders won more counties in NY like that meant something. I kept walking real fast and tried not to make eye contact, because that is some CRAZY shit #berniemath

(4,762 posts)watching bS supporters come up with frantic ways of calculating hitherto irrelevant numbers to prove that in some alternate mathematical universe he is rally winning.
No, he is losing. By double digits. Which means "not close." We don't count land mass or percentage of left handed college graduates as significant. We count votes and delegates.
And one candidate is far ahead in both.

And you don't think that made a difference?

(73 posts)Exactly, would you define those two numbers with the same phrase? This question isn't about Sanders v Clinton. It's about truth in journalism and misleading statements.
wildeyed
(11,243 posts)about saying that Clinton won NY by double digits. Because SHE DID. People who want to know how many that actually means will be able to figure it out. It is not a hard.

Clinton did not win a landslide last night in her home senatorial state. Period.

(73 posts)Why in the hell do you continue to post shit where it doesn't belong? Why are you even on my thread, you have not contributed 1 intelligent sentence to my original post. Just go away little person. Can you answer 1 question I have asked you?
leftynyc
(26,060 posts)what a message board is all about. Nobody is obligated to stick to the topic and we're allowed to post whatever we like (except in LBN where it actually has to be LBN or GD where GD-P stories don't belong). You should also learn some manners and realize that calling anyone "Hillary assholes" is only going to get your ass kicked all over the thread.

You are really upset about this. If such a picayune matter drives you to apoplexy what is your response to more serious matters? As I said there are resources available for you to help with your anger management issues.

(56,582 posts)If you win 54-46, you won by 8 points, which is a single digit victory.
If you win 56-44, you won by 12 points, which is a double digit victory.
You make it clear in your last sentence. It's very literal, I can understand the distinction you're making. For me, as long as they include the numbers!
I probably haven't heard the term as much as you have, though. There is one reference I've heard way too much that began to grate on me, but might be inflammatory if I said what it was. I'm sure everyone has a collection of their least favorite overused campaign terms.
