(8,352 posts)They will enjoy their little Pyrrhic victory and either lose the primary because Clinton is not electable with an indictment over her head or lose the general because no one on the left outside of the 'in club' can stand the woman and her policies.
I have not met a single independent here that voted for Sanders that intends to vote the LOTE for Clinton in the GE. None. Not going to happen.

(28,749 posts)But it does make this OP a false representation of the post you are calling out.
And worth an edit IMO.
ChisolmTrailDem
(9,463 posts)It's Bernie's campaign, it's Bernie's decision to continue, not Weavers.
I'm not editing anything.

(12,504 posts)And those same people assumed that if Bernie won the nomination Hillary supporters would vote for him. It's only Bernie supporters that seem to be so vocal in making a Bernie or Bust stand. I'm not sure why you think we should believe you or any other Bernie Bro that there was a chance that you would vote vote Hillary under any circumstance, cussing out Bernie not withstanding.

(7,596 posts)It's that not one of them can give a single reason why Hillary is worth supporting whatsoever. All they do is tear into Sanders.

(17,651 posts)And Clinton just co-opts whatever Bernie says that sounds good. She's more about the "business opportunities" angle more than anything. Any crumbs coming our way is an after thought.
The Presidency would become one big giant slush fund for Clinton, Inc.

(5,811 posts)Hillary.
It is totally unnecessary. POCs, especially African Americans have had very little to say about Bernie because they were never going to vote for him. So why drag him? Unnecessary. The best strategy is to focus on the candidate you want. It doesn't require dogging the one you don't want.

(1,054 posts)had the voters been allowed to vote, she would not have gotten the delegates tonight. However the DNC switched a whole lot of dems to independent - again selling out it's own party. And they refuse to have open elections to let people register close to the election. A lot has changed in 8 months. hillary support has taken a nose dive. She didn't win. She got handed a stolen election. The actual voters wouldn't have picked her by a land slide and she and her supporters know it. It's why they don't want anyone registering as a democrat and voting on the day of the election or even within a month of it.

(9,463 posts)and Bernie is mentioned in the post to which the poster responds.
Even if that's true (the poster doesn't specify so you don't know for sure), does that make it ok, to call Weaver a piece of shit?

(58,724 posts)The poster does not call Bernie that.
For the record, I do not think it's cool to say that about Jeff Weaver.

(1,511 posts)I hope he picks it up in the next few states, but this last week has t left me disgusted with all of them. They just keep bragging about keeping out independents and the youth and all I can see is the 72% that voted for him leaving this party. I am sure it will get better again, but they are posting some ugly posts.

(9,527 posts)Calling Clinton a grifter, saying that only old rich people voted for Clinton, claiming the election was stolen in spite of even if you gave Sanders all 125k votes that were said to be changed as part of the unaffiliated voter thing he would still be short, calling Clinton supporters losers.
It goes both ways.

(1,729 posts)So the poster was clearly calling Jeff Weaver that, not Bernie. That doesn't necessarily make it right, but at least be factual about it.
But given the whole alert-stalking thing I just learned about this weekend, I don't care about convincing these people. I think the bulk of them will come around either way and the ones that don't come around were never going to be there anyway.

kerry-is-my-prez
(8,133 posts)with supporting Sanders a week or two from probably will not be voting Democratic. It would certainly be great if they did but Sanders keeps on saying he is going to keep going on until the convention. He is NOT a Democrat. Many of his supporters are not Democrats or say they are quitting the party. There are many Sanders people who you can see see in black and white, good vs. evil and there is no gray for them. They have a real hatred for Clinton. The Clinton campaign would be wiser to concentrate on independents, female republicans, Hispanics, other POC, people 40+ than the totally die-hard Sanders people. I'm not saying that all Sanders people are like that but there's a lot. You see it in a lot of polls. There's also been a low turnout for the Dems - especially in the younger age group - the Sanders voters.
It's too bad because it will just move the Dem Party further to the right to capture the people they have a real chance of getting to vote for them. If Sanders were to merge with Clinton soon, then the party would most likely move further to the left.
Would be interesting to have another poll here to see where the Sanders people are at now. Something like 70-80 % of them said they would refuse to vote for Hillary a few weeks ago.
There is a chance that some will change their minds but I'm not seeing it here at least.
Chan790
(20,176 posts)As someone that this applies to, it's nice to know that there are actually Clinton supporters that understand exactly how we feel and why we're going to do what we're going to do.
There can be no unity with Clinton. She's clear. She's not interested in it if it means she has to actually move one centimeter to the left or make any concessions to win us back. She's unwilling to move and we're unwilling to capitulate, getting nothing in exchange for our support, just to avoid a marginally-shittier (than a Clinton presidency) Trump presidency.
Edit: That said, I don't even know what I'd want from her in exchange for my support since all I've ever wanted from Clinton was for her to go away permanently.
