Question: How are early voters counted into exit polls?

If they aren't counted, I fear we will hear early reports of Romney being way up in exit polls since they will only include election-day voters.

1. Uncorrected exit polls are very inaccurate anyway

Exit polls are useful for understanding the makeup of the electorate *after* they have been adjusted to the final results of the election; before that, they are subject to response rate bias. Nate Silver has posted many times on how unreliable exit polls are for forecasting the results of elections before the vote counting ends.

3. There is a "shy elephant factor" that already makes fewer repubs respond

to exit pollsters. So if democrats vote early it may even out.
