The Manchurian Candidate vs. The Genuine Candidate

Willard 'Mitt' Romney is the epitome of the Manchurian Candidate. The man made a personal fortune by exporting American jobs to China. As the founder of Bain Capital, the Republican nominee for President has overseen the transfer of thousands of American jobs to China and India. Though he is not involved in the day to day affairs of the company, Romney clearly and directly benefited from Bain's business practices. A strange position for a man that vows to get tough on China when a good portion of his fortune comes from the selling of American jobs to the nation he now bemoans as a cheater!

Romney's personal wealth now stands at $190-250 million from his years as President/CEO of Bain. In 2001, he signed an agreement that allowed him to receive a profit share in Bain Capital buyouts and investment funds. The private equity business earned him millions of dollars in annual income and he continues to benefit from jobs being transferred from the United States to China by what he refers to as blind trusts.

One such example is the tragedy right now unfolding in Freeport, IL as Sensata Corporation and Bain Capital are exporting 170 high-tech American jobs to China. This in spite of the fact that Sensata Corporation has record profits this year. But how can Americans survive when their jobs are being shipped overseas to increase an already significant bottom line? A bottom line that Romney clearly reaps the rewards of.

But China is not the entity that Willard Romney serves. This Manchurian Candidate answers to the ultra-wealthy. Like him or not, the man is a savvy businessman, that is willing to go to extremes to answer to his handlers. Do not let it happen!

Picture a corporation where Mitt Romney is the CEO. The ultra-wealthy are the shareholders who are demanding more profit. The Republican Party are the executives and managers who tell the middle class, the office workers that they need to work harder for less because it will benefit the company as a whole, thus justifying cutting employee benefits and eliminating workers entirely. All to the feed the need for greed up top. Never mind the middle class will be working more for less and some jobs, if not all are outsourced up top. The shareholders will benefit, the CEO and executives will be well compensated, and one day the 47% could become the 99% as more of the middle class find their jobs outsourced in this trickle down approach borrowed straight from the corporate boardrooms. Do not let it happen!

The Manchurian Candidate will be whomever you want him to be. Romney will tell the Tea Party he is a hawk that will launch attacks against Iran, will cut taxes for the wealthy by 15%, will outlaw abortion outright, and then the very next week, tell moderates that he is a negotiator, he is for the middle class first, and he supports women's issues. The image is now trying to portray does not jive with his history. The man is a businessman first, a corporate CEO, has been for almost 40 years of his life, he cannot change his stripes. He answers to his handlers, the ultra weathy. Americans can expect, a corporate style of government that will clamp down on women's rights, will reduce the middle class by eliminating their tax deductions and shifting his handlers tax burdens upon them, and will engage in additional conflicts with other nations because it benefits the military industrial complex. Do not let it happen!

I support the only candidate in this race that has always been for 100% of the people. That has a history of struggle and perseverance that helped him overcome his humble beginnings, not a man of wealth and privilege. A man that is an experienced leader that has grown and has lead this nation in extremely troubled times because his solution is not to do something spontaneously that only benefits the privileged views (the easy road), but measured doses to benefit the nation as a whole. He is a beacon and an example to all of us, that regardless of our beginnings, our shortcomings, the challenges we face now and later, if we focus, if we work together and selflessly do for others, we can achieve great things. He is Barack Obama, the President of the United States and the Genuine Candidate in 2012.

and a Romney administration terrifies me because just when the nation is beginning to show shines of progress, Romney comes a long and threatens to put us into another dark age, much like the Bush years.
