GOP Voter Registration Scandal Widens

http://www.salon.com/2012/10/19/gop_voter_registration_scandal_widens/
...........SNIP.........Joseph Tanfani at the Los Angeles Times is reporting that Small was “working as a supervisor as part of a registration operation in eight swing states financed by the Republican National Committee.”

The firing of Sproul and Strategic Allied Consulting was a deception.

Moreover, as The BRAD BLOG detailed on Tuesday the company’s mailing address, according to documents released [PDF] by the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement upon announcement of their statewide criminal investigation of Strategic (the firm is also being criminally investigated in CO), was registered as a corporation last June out of the same law office run by top-level Republican National Committee election attorneys where both Karl Rove’s American Crossroads Super-PAC and the Koch Brothers’ Americans for Prosperity are also based.......SNIP........

Most probably don't know until they show up to vote only to find out they are not registered.

3. And VA is a swing state. So it's especially important to vote.

Let's just call it like it really is.....this thing is NATIONWIDE!

Eventually the complacent M$M will pick up the stench. No more cover-ups and quiet backroom conspiracies.

Don't just cut off the heads, get the roots!

?? (not sure of the word) appear before a judge about this. Registrations should be kicked to the side, all people should be allowed to vote (I know, fantasy world) but if thousands show up stating that they registered what are they going to do? It will be enough votes to swing an election. Voting is going to have to be wide open for this election.

8. They need to. It's the only fair thing to do.

In North Carolina we can register to vote at the polls. They need to do the same thing in these other states.

this is outrageous. I do not understand why we cannot have an investigation into the RNC's leadership and tactics. This sort of thing does not happen in a vacuum.

11. The word you're looking for is "injunction"...

...and would probably be necessary, considering that voter registration is almost certainly closed by now in Virginia. Whether a judge would award such an injunction is an open question -- as I pointed out earlier, the general rule is that you are personally responsible for getting your registration form to the relevant state authority, and if you relied on a middleman who let you down, it's your own damn fault for not doing it yourself. So it would really be a coin-flip whether a judge takes action on this. Even if one were to do so, you can bet the Republicans would appeal it, at least all the way to the State Supreme Court and possibly the federal courts after that. All of this would, of course, take time, and I'm not sure we'd be able to get through all the layers of Republican obstructionism by Election Day.
