Here's why Bernie's losing South Carolina: half-empty arena at a black college in Orangeburg on primary eve.

(52,203 posts)he just pointed out that the reason that Sanders would lose the primary election is because the state is stupid but of course he didn't mean the primary electorate, he just meant that the general stupidity give me a break. Sanders supporters have repeatedly said this sort of crap about African Americans. They have Stockholm Syndrome, they are too lazy to find out who Sanders is, they are too ignorant of him to know who he is, they are committing political hari kari, and so on. But of course, when challenged, we hear more excuses than patch Hell a mile.

(4,507 posts)this would be a brilliant piece of propaganda to improve your chances on Super Tuesday!
Also, nice job providing no context to whatever your numbers reference. As one who has done a lot of presenting of data for political purposes, you really nailed it there!

(98 posts)The media loves to talk trash in a thousand different ways regarding Bernie. I wonder why South Carolina polling data from the fall showed 35% black voters saying a Sanders administration would "favor the rich", while just 10% thought he would "favor the poor." I doubt it's changed much). Journalists running swift boat-like attacks on 40 year old photos of a young Sanders fighting segregation and racism, almost the entire Democratic party smearing and lying about his record, media blackout right up to the Iowa caucus. To engage in serious discourse one has to spend 80% of the conversation unpacking the crazy.

Also some of the kids looked all but impressed.
Just to offer a tad more context to your post. Have I ever mentioned that I do absolutely consider CSPAN a treasure? Though I would have loved if they broke their own rule and went for a side pan, and not just stuck to the tight shots.

I ran this a few times...
Then again, the AJC story might be related to this and another incident.

It's been posted here as OPs already.
From a political observer perspective, I find this quite frankly... fascinating, I mean that. I expected a very boring primary, but we got two base revolts cooking, ah so 1824...

Does that qualify as a 'salon'? You'll have to forgive me, I'm not so plugged into that scene.

(20,317 posts)That happened two days ago-- there wouldn't be polling yet on that anyway. The photo was a snarky reference to a small crowd at a Hillary Clinton engagement, though admittedly-- it was small because she only wanted to talk at people who would give her $500 for the privilege.
Hillary has lost a lot of ground since the beginning of the campaign. I thought that was fairly common knowledge.

(3,967 posts)led me to believe you were saying that was the cause. Her poll numbers are certainly down since last year at this time, but I think she is in a better position to win the nomination now than she was a year ago, since she has weathered the campaign.
