The Politics Of Fear and The Party Of Non-Voters

But don’t be misled. The race has tightened up.

Moreover, polls of “likely voters” are notoriously imprecise because they reflect everyone who says they’re likely to vote – including those who hope to but won’t, as well as those who won’t but don’t want to admit it.

Remember: The biggest party in America is neither Democrats nor Republicans. It’s the party of non-voters — a group that outnumbers the other two.

So the real question is which set of potential supporters is more motivated on Election Day (or via absentee ballot) to bother to vote.

and then there will be many others who will have buyers remorse on election day
and end up staying home rather than vote for a mormon who does not believe
in the same god they do.

I seriously think Mitt's whole strategy now is to say whatever he wants, even completely contradictions, because he knows in the end that people will believe the statement that they agree with. He really is a snake oil salesman. He's going to convince the fundies that his REAL position is the one they want, and that he's only saying the other stuff to win over moderates. Meanwhile, he's going to convince moderates that his REAL position is the one they want, and he's only saying the other stuff to win over the fundies.

It's evil and brilliant, and unless we can pull back the curtain and show these idiots that he HAS no real position, so who knows if it will benefit them or not, he could pull it off.

It's really terrifying to think that might be his entire strategy. We assumed his lies would catch up to him. I'm starting to worry that the sheer amount of lies are making people immune to them. Scares the shit out of me.

they were worried that he would move to the left which they fear is where is true beliefs are.
mark my words, if mitt keeps moving to the left, there will be a record number of republicans who stay home on election day.
