Kos: Tomorrow's PPP poll will show Romney ahead, but...

Last edited Mon Oct 8, 2012, 05:53 PM - Edit history (1)

...the samples were mainly taken Thursday and Friday, at the height of his bounce.

Still, the last thing we needed was this following on Pew, as it guarantees the media narrative will be "Romney has taken the lead!!!" for at least the next few days, eclipsing Obama's seeming recovery in the trackers.

PPP tweeted Obama doing better than a month ago in Saturday/Sunday polling in Wisconsin:

http://twitter.com/ppppolls

And a month ago Obama was +7.

And the PPP poll from Thursday Friday is *already* out:

http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/polls/ppp-d-15566

Obama +2. So where did they get this "Romney will be ahead" stuff?

...but right now, as in most other recent times I've posted, I'm doing it from a smartphone, and cutting and pasting links is damn near impossible in this mobile app.

If you want to check it out, look at dKos for a post titled something like "Romney's real (but ebbing) debate bounce."

You admit that (1) you usually post from smartphones and (2) you can't post links from your smartphone.

So it's correct that you don't post links supporting your posts.

I said it's hard to post links from my smartphone. If you look back, you'll see that I practically always provide a link (even if not really needed) when posting on computer. That's a far cry from your suggesting that I'm some sort of a troll because I "never" post links.

If you know any easy ways to copy links is Safari, please let me know how -- when I try, all I manage to do is erase the URL in the address bar.

...and, although it took me about five tries to even get the select bar.

But...when I finally did so, and went back and posted the link in the OP, although it shows up in "raw form" in the edit box, when I actually post it, it doesn't show up in Safari. ???

and likewise for the improved deficit outlook. In both cases, the situation is still fundamentally negative, but just less so. And in both cases, it tests to deflate one of Romney's favorite attack angles, so just having it go away is a good thing.

But to get value from that, Obama needs to be attacking Romney. I keep waiting and I'm not seeing it. Where is the hard-hitting stuff? If Obama is expecting the media to do his job for him, it ain't happening.

So it's a statistical dead heat in a national poll. Big whoop. Anyone who really thought the national popular vote was going to be anything other than close is fooling themselves.

If the electoral map flips for Romney THEN be worried.

Once the job numbers are touted for a week or so, then we shall see.

We are just getting national polls that are not tracking polls from the post-debate period. State polls will probably not be out until mid or late week from the post-debate period.

He said we should not tear out hair out, even though he would.

He also said it would pass. So, let it pass, and get back to work, making phone calls and knocking on doors!
