Donald Trump got tripped up by a description of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) at a Wednesday night town hall in Charleston, South Carolina when he mistook the Democratic presidential candidate's defining traits for his own.
"The candidate is considered a political outsider by all the pundits. He's tapping into the anger of the voters, delivers a populist message. He believes everyone in the country should have healthcare," Mika Brzezinski, moderator and co-host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, said to Trump. "He advocates for hedge fund managers to pay higher taxes. He's drawing thousands of people at his rallies and bringing in a lot of new voters to the political process, and he's not beholden to any super PAC. Who am I describing?"
"Or of any special interests or any donors," Trump added. "You're describing Donald Trump."
"Actually," Brzezinski replied, "I was describing Bernie Sanders."

(4,558 posts)I have to ask this though.. let's just say.. for arguments sake, that you are 100% right, and ALLLL of the Senate endorsements for Clinton, and ALLLLLL of the Representative endorsements for Clinton is all about the money. They are all corrupt. It has nothing at all to do with them thinking that Hillary will be the better, more experienced president.
If you are right, surely Bernie Sanders knows this.
If you are right, this means that there is absolutely NO chance.. at all.. that Bernie will be able to get ANY of his campaign promises out of the starting gate.. Not a SINGLE current senator is endorsing him. only 2 out of 188 sitting Democrats in the House of Representatives are endorsing him.
IF you are right, this leaves only 1 of 2 possibilities:
1. Bernie Sanders, A member of Congress for decades is COMPLETELY ignorant of the dynamics of Congress.
2. Bernie Sanders campaign is fully built on known false campaign promises.

Healthcare
TPP
Money in politics
How do you think voters will feel about Clinton if it's her against Trump in the fall?
That said, Trump is nothing like Bernie. Bernie has integrity and, while they agree on money in politics, Trump has his own money and is missing the point: one shouldn't need to be funded by billionaires or BE a billionaire in order to run for office.

(1,890 posts)This was obviously planned in advance by Mika to try to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak but it will fail because when the candidate's platforms are viewed side by side voters can clearly see the difference. lol
On the few issues referenced (healthcare for all, taxing hedge fund Mgrs. and not taking special interest money) they are very similar but on a host of other issues they are totally different as any honest person can see. What's good about this, though, is that it will enable Sanders a way to cross party lines and get some support from Republicans. Those Republican voters who agree with Trump about money in politics but who disagree with his bombastic personality, cruel remarks about minorities and his support of torture, etc. will have an alternative candidate. The Sanders campaign will also have Trump saying good things about Bernie for their ads. lol Thanks Mika!

(1,890 posts)I guess the Muslim Democratic Club of New York doesn't think Bernie & Trump are one in the same. They just endorsed Sanders for President.

(4,558 posts)You posted a photo showing Hillary with the odious personality Donald Trump.
I posted one of her and Nelson Mandela, showing the side you'd rather not be seen.
You responded with, and added Kissinger to the formula, and wondered what Nelson Mandela thought of him, so I responded and showed you what you asked to see.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Hillary has met with, and engaged with world leaders for decades now. Her portfolio goes from some of the greatest (Like Nelson Mandela) to some of the most odious (Trumpet).

(62,444 posts)And if you had a description like:
"This candidate is no stranger to the White House and has a wide network of political allies and friends in order to get things done", you would also be simultaneously describing two very different candidates - on the issues.
