2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary supporters have resorted to insulting young people.
How long before they turn on minorities and women? This is really pathetic and sad.
If Hillary wins the nomination millennials are going to stay home and it's going to be nobody's fault but Hillary and her supporters.

DU has been full of these insults to young people today from Hillarians.
Of course, there were the insults that were hurled over the weekend.

So I guess it's the old double standard thing. Hillary supporters get to go insane about what is said on Twitter but also dismiss it when that works better. It's the bread buttered on both sides syndrome.

Sorry if that embarrassed your candidate when people called him out on his ignorance. But they did not call him racist. He was not saying enough and was a big enough person to admit it.

(16,950 posts)her supporters here is what is really happening by the same internet harassers that Bernie himself has asked to stop.
Madeleine Albrights's comment was a tongue-in-cheek comment that is even on a coffee cup, it's that benign and commonplace. It's just being used as phony leverage to even some scores and exploit a passing comment to badger people for petty reasons and boost Bernie.
The portion of Gloria Steinem's comment that the same phony Clinton harassers are exploiting was about Berniebros. Berniebros is a MEDIA invention and is used in national media at this point. The rest of Steinam's comments were spot on: more young women are feminists than at her age, woman graduating in debt, women make less money over their lifetime, ETC.
So quit the phony exploitation of some passing comments that have since been dealt with. The exploitation of these comments is coming from Bernie supporters for some cheap potshots. Now a BS supporter here made up a slur, Clintonbrahs, which is only meant to attack people here. Berniebros was coined by the MEDA, not by someone here to attack other posters. That"s the exact harassment Bernie himself had told you he doesn't want in his name, so GET REAL.

You told me months ago you were putting me on Ignore because, your words, I was "low caliber", you being so superior, LMAO!
You have openly mocked female Clinton supporters because of their age, so sorry if I don't take your comments or BMus's comments about sexism seriously. Too funny!
artislife
(9,497 posts)Then I decided to undo a load of h supporters. You didn't have a fly swatter so you came back in.
You are pretty low caliber. Off you go again.
R B Garr
(16,950 posts)Of course, I can't say what I think of you or it will get hidden, yet your nasty comments about age are allowed to stand. Typical!
And, yeah, your phoniness about sexism is as low-caliber as it gets as well. You had nothing to say but a petty personal insult in response to me. Just look -- you spent more time insulting me than in a response to my post. Phony!
Do put me on Ignore. Not interested in the phony superiority. And do read what Bernie himself has said about his online supporters harassing people. You are in need of hearing his message, although it may be too late.

beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)Since you admit they're both sexist, when are you going to stop using "Berniebros"?
R B Garr
(16,950 posts)You are just trying to cover up.your payback self-made slur of "clintonbrahs". Berniebros is a print media origin and now national media uses it. Even Bernie has noted it. Talk about things going over your head...
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)You bristled when the reverse was used on you (Hillary-brahs) yet you still don't see the hypocrisy.
Maybe you're not an it-getter?
And claiming the 'media does it too!' is no excuse since they're known for their sexist double standards when it comes to women.
R B Garr
(16,950 posts)It simply wasn't the reverse. One is a media creation. The other you created.
You couched your self-made slur in your "concern" about sexism. More phoniness.
The national media uses Berniebro. Bernie has called out their nasty behavior. You made up Clintonbrahs as payback. If I did that, I would get hidden. Must be nice! You should read what Sanders said about divisiveness.

You made up the other one.
They are not the same
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)Whoops! Ya missed it again.
R B Garr
(16,950 posts)with the media. Your slur is self-made. You are not the media.
What's more.WHOOOSH is that your slur is supposed to be about shaming others about sexism. Yet no one here made up Berniebro. The MEDIA did that. Now the national media uses it. Its a real thing.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)Awww, you're trying so hard too. Keep working on it, maybe it'll come to you.
R B Garr
(16,950 posts)here for something the MEDIA created.
You creating a slur is NOT the same as the media creating it. How ridiculous.
beam me up scottie
(57,349 posts)Both are gender based slurs, the media and how you personally feel about it are completely irrelevant.
Now I'll let you work on that while I go celebrate with my friends, if it comes to you let me know.
Or not - I really couldn't care less honestly.
R B Garr
(16,950 posts)people here. Berniebro was NOT made up here to attack people, and it's still widely used by print media, cable and national news. You just tried to throw sexism in to even some scores and make your attack seem legitimate when it wasn't.
So, NO, your made up slur is not the same as what the media uses. It's laughable you would even claim that.
And it figures you would add yet more divisive comments about celebrating. You should read what Bernie himself has said about telling his supporters to quit harassing people.

(45,319 posts)mention. I find that to be rude, Hillary supporters leave out that that OP was addressed to LGBT and African Americans and they leave out that many Bernie supporters gave the OP a full dressing down. You are again bringing it up here as if that OP applies to all Bernie supporters when many objected to that OP, not seeing Hillary supporters objecting to the one that trashes the younger voters.
So hypocritical. And so typical. In so many specifically infuriating ways.
NCTraveler
(30,481 posts)Not sure why that is considered credit worthy on a progressive board. I'm not sure what your connection between younger voters and minorities is.
