2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSadly, one thing I noticed about Bernie's ad that was missing.
In the beginning they showed some black and white cows, later they showed some black cows in a pasture with a few white cows, it all seemed happy and peaceful enough, even uplifting.
But that was a just trick as I continued listening to the music I felt a void and it all became quite apparent to me that there was a critical element missing, there was literally no cowbell.

Why does Bernie hate brown cows?

(58,365 posts)"How now brown cow" is a phrase used in elocution teaching to demonstrate rounded vowel sounds. Each "ow" sound in the phrase represents an individual diphthong. Although not in use today, the phrase "how now" is a greeting, short for "how say you now", and can be found in archaic literature, such as the plays of William Shakespeare.
The use of the phrase "how now brown cow" in teaching elocution can be dated back to at least 1926.[1]

n phonetics, vowel roundedness refers to the amount of rounding in the lips during the articulation of a vowel. It is labialization of a vowel. When pronouncing a rounded vowel, the lips form a circular opening, whereas unrounded vowels (also called spread vowels) are pronounced with the lips relaxed. In most languages, front vowels tend to be unrounded, whereas back vowels tend to be rounded. But some languages, such as French and German, distinguish rounded and unrounded front vowels of the same height, whereas Vietnamese distinguishes rounded and unrounded back vowels of the same height. Alekano has only unrounded vowels.[citation needed][dubious discuss]

The labia are part of the female genitalia; they are the major externally visible portions of the vulva. In humans, there are two pairs of labia: the labia majora (or the outer labia) are larger and fattier, while the labia minora are folds of skin between the outer labia. The labia surround and protect the clitoris and the openings of the vagina and the urethra.

(13,877 posts)carried by a youngster, but how can a herd of cows have only one calf...it faces extinction without a strong second generation. And further, were there any bulls? Hard to tell at first glance. You need bulls to make calves with cows to make the herd grow and prosper.
Lordy, we need a new ad, I fear.
