A recommendation for an excellent production audiobook...

I hope it's ok for me to post this here. I looked all over and decided my compadres here would enjoy it.

This is wonderful and worth a listen. I'm in search of Spider Robinson now....

If I should move this just say and I will.

Any time you have something intellectually stimulating that doesn't fit anywhere else, you are free to post here. (At least, that is MY opinion.)

I am just reading Earth Abides by George R. Stewart, another post-apocalyptic sci-fi classic from 1949. I will have to check this out. Normally, I don't listen to audio books, but prefer to read, but when I was checking out the comments on this, they talked about a chant that really should be heard. So I will try this.

As the discussions range far and wide here I thought this was the best place. This is an audio play rather than just the reading of the book, as in audio book. I think you'll like it.

Earth Abides sounds familiar, I'll have to look it up.

We are disconnecting our cable TV and I've discovered free audiobooks as wonderful entertainment. We kept internet which comes with a standard package. I have a stack of books to read as well.

As odd as it may be, I've always enjoyed Gregorian Chants and find them relaxing. This may be because I don't know what they're saying and enjoy the human voice and the melody.

I always turn to Robinson for pure enjoyment and humanity. The present recommended audio comes with more than a few chuckles as well.

I don't pay for much in the way of content, library and all. Might as well buy some too.

I need to use free or inexpensive, however, there are certain books that aren't available or are more than I want to spend.

Thanks for the suggestion below, I'll look for it.

It really captures they gung-ho 'we can win a nuclear war with the russkies' attitude of pre-ICBM America.

If I get bored with my reading list, I'll grab earth abides, alas Babylon, lucifer' hammer, or Richter 10 and reread it.
