Deepak: "Dawkins is a bad scientist and his arrogance pisses me off"

Amazing. Being called "arrogant" by Deepak Chopra is like being called ugly by a frog. IIRC, this is the guy who modestly claimed that he personally caused an earthquake in Baja California.

Beware the wonky formatting on the Raw Story site. After the first page, you'll probably be attacked by an ad featuring species Kardashianus Dumbassus or Ryan Seacrest. Just swipe again and you'll get to the rest of the article. I hope.

Here's a linkto the Salon story where he claims to be able to levitate and that he's only a visitor in the insane asylum that the rest of us inhabit. He can't possibly be naive enough to swallow his own bullshit.

You only have to watch Dawkins laughing him on film to see why he's pissed off.

into common parlance and would like to catch up.

"Brainhead" was a nice comeback, I think. Chopra must has a special Human Anatomy edition of Mad-libs.

"Metabolizing time." *chuckle!*

Jesus! Deepak is so smarmy! You, Deepak Deary, are the only one talking about it! I'm sure Dawkins hasn't thought of you for more than 2 seconds together since Mexico.

Fittingly appearing here at the "American Loons" website...

http://americanloons.blogspot.com/2010/08/54-fritjof-capra.html

Chopra, Capra...all these exotic names remind me of another blissed-out spiritual leader: Krishna Venta, real name Frank Pencovic. He was an ex-convict who founded the goofy "Fountain of the World" cult in Simi Valley, CA in the 1950s.

Venta/Pencovic was famous for "crucifying" himself every Good Friday. But not really - he just sat on the cross, courtesy of a bicycle seat concealed under his Messianic robes.

He and his cult got a lot more famous in December 1958. Venta had received a revelation very common to Spiritual Leaders - the wives and daughters of his followers were to...ahem..."cleave only unto him."

A couple of his followers strapped dynamite to themselves, stormed into their church, and sent Venta off to look for the next world. In multiple directions simultaneously, which was probably some kind of quantum event.

Incredibly, the Fountain of the World cult survives to this day. There are rumors that in the 1960s, its members took in another budding Messiah - Charlie Manson.

When Art Bell was host, I listened every night, because there was a ghost story, suspended disbelief quality about it in those days. Now, less so, and I find I have entirely lost my taste for it.

I never heard it, but I heard ads for it back when Art Bell was running the show. How sad.

Gullible people take subatomic and relativity principles and apply them broadly to the world as we know it.

The world that we see runs on Newtonian physics, not subatomic physics.
