Since most believers have their beliefs crammed into their skulls from the time they can understand language, it's easy to see how the mindset is so difficult to shake.

Dawkins said something to the effect that there is no such thing as a christian (or muslim, etc.) child. Only a child subject to nonsense from an age well before the ability for critical reason is reached.
