MCGUIRK: The war on Christmas is very, very real, and if you ask me, in addition to some grouchy misanthropic heathen atheists it has to do — at the root of it — with two things — abortion and the gay rights agenda, because Christianity is against those things. It’s subtle but that’s why it’s so pronounced in recent years.

O’REILLY: Hundred percent agree. I absolutely agree 100 percent that the diminishment of Christianity is the target and Christmas is the vehicle because the secularists know the opposition to their agenda (legalized drugs is in that as well) comes primarily from the Judeo-Christian traditionalist people.

1. Wake me when he stops screeching about mean old liberals

and starts screeching about a drive to purge Santa and the tree and the lights on the houses and the big dinner and the presents.

Then I'll know he's defending his bizarre notion of Christianity against heathen elements.

3. Defending the concepts brought to us by the Founding Fathers

is now a "war on Christmas". Give me a break! Let's say it one more time----there is no war on Christmas. There is no war on religion. What there is a war on is the government supporting Christmas, which is a celebration just for one of the world's religions.

Hell, I like a celebration with food and drink and gifts as much as the next person.

There was a LTTE in our paper today about how we should all remember that Christmas would not be celebrated if it was not for Christ, and even atheists should embrace and rejoice in him. Oy vey! I swear that none of these fundy activists realize that all the things we think about when we think of Christmas are "heathen" traditions.
