"The Most Hated Family In America" - 2007 BBC documentary. Journalist Louis Theroux lived with the Phelps family for several weeks.

He tried to interview ol' Fred. But Fred is so arrogant and contemptuous of people stupider than himself - which is everybody - that he cut short his interview and sent Theroux packing.

Phelps did say this before ending the interview:

Billy Graham, hell-bound false prophet. I've known Billy Graham more than fifty years, and Billy, you are headed straight and irreversibly for hell. You are a lying, money grubbing, Arminian heretic...At 88, Graham will soon die, and split hell wide open. And Westboro Baptist Church will picket your funeral. Amen!

The show is probably lying around the Internetz somewhere. Looks like it has been removed from YouTube, though.

There are a couple of moments when I could almost feel sorry for some members of the family. Theroux asks a couple of teen girls if they plan to get married. One girl says their entire high school hates them, and no one would ever want to marry a Phelps.

And at one of their funeral pickets, a little boy gets hit in the head with a pop bottle, tossed by a passing motorist. Of course, these assheads should never take small children to their hate-fests anyway. It gives a whole new meaning to child exploitation.
