Vatican Declares Gay Marriage Holy War, Seeks to Form Worldwide Religions Coalition

http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/vatican-declares-gay-marriage-holy-war-forms-worldwide-religions-coalition/politics/2012/04/30/38744
A top Vatican representative and Roman Catholic Archbishop is reaching out to form a coalition with other religions and has called on them to join the Vatican in a worldwide holy war against same-sex marriage, claiming that proliferation of equality “is not a good thing for society,” and will lead to “confusion.”

“I wonder if we shouldn’t ask for and look for more support among other Christian confessions and indeed, persons of other faiths,” Archbishop Antonio Mennini, who represents Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican in Great Britain, said in an address to Catholic bishops from England and Wales.

“It seems to me that, concerning the institution of marriage, and indeed the sanctity of human life, we have much in common with the position of the Jewish community, the Chief Rabbi and many of the more significant representatives of Islam,” Mennini added.

Wow. That's a ridiculous thing to say.

The headline is a bit misleading, imo. He wants to form a collation, but it's not clear that he has any takers.

I object, though, when sites do this. It's sloppy journalism.

I can think of several religious organizations in the U.S. that hate gays more than they hate the Great Whore of Babylon.

the people matters?

Only religious folks who base their thinking upon some guy who was raised from the dead...yup that makes a difference!

Tell us, religious folks, why we should listen to people who promote these fairy tales, and deny some people equal protection because of the plumbing of whom those people choose to love.

Where is the rationality in this debate? I fail to see any rationale from the fairy tale folks.

It's one of the bright lines that the owner of the site has drawn.

That's the dumbest thing I have heard all week.

I'm in favor of the coalition which is already well formed supporing gay marriage.

I think he is equally deserving, for somewhat similar reasons.
