SyFy's Childhood's End take on religion

Last edited Wed Dec 16, 2015, 05:07 PM - Edit history (1)

Is any one watching this adaptation of Clarke's classic book?

I have found it intelligent and well done over the last two episodes (last episode tonight).

One of the things about it is it has taken on a definitely atheistic pov. It shows religion to be irrelevant and useless.

spoilers...

The aliens, by bringing peace and prosperity to everyone on earth shows how indifferent (or more likely nonexistent) the Gods have been.

Of course there is more to the story, but this aspect was interesting.

Indifferent or nonexistent.

Everything else is just wishful thinking.
