When people claim moral authority from a position of religious faith, run.

Last edited Thu Aug 20, 2015, 01:32 PM - Edit history (1)

Just run. Every last damn one of them is a liar, and probably doing what they rail against, or worse.

The only thing I can figure, they don't believe either. They must not. If you REALLY believe, could you do something like this with your imaginary friend watching? I doubt it. They do it because they DON'T believe. They just want to use religion as a club to beat others into submission. They don't believe, themselves.

Edit: LOL hey guys, porn did it.

Statement from Josh Duggar:

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

It implies that only non-believers are capable of "misusing" religion. I contend there are plenty of people who are true believers who are capable of bad things too.

When rejecting evidence in favor of faith is seen as a virtue, anything can happen. (And usually does!)

They figure they are so far up high in the friendship-with-God hierarchy that they can afford to violate his rules. Would God be mad? Nah! They are best buddies! He will understand!

Remember how Jesus told us to donate all our belongings and live in poverty? For rich people don't go to heaven?
You can actually bypass that command if you pray really, really hard in public and if you are really, really mean to people who violate other biblical stuff.

But there are folks who see it as worse than his previous crimes. I don't think the hypocracy meter works after his buolding a career pushing the idea that homosexuality leads to pedophilia.

is the Duggar family elders did an interview about a week ago, expressing disappointment and shock at how the public reacted, and that they weren't forgiven or allowed back on TLC (Cash Cow).

So... this is amusing.

If it were a crime, it wouldn't be funny. (They may even have an open marriage, who knows)

In this whole debacle. They don't care, to them he men own the women, it's how the bible spell it out, e new testament upholds it (bits like women not teaching etc.) I'd check to see if he frequented any other sites, maybe subway?

Still. Sunlight. Disinfectant.
