Can anyone familiar with orthodox Mormon and Scientologist beliefs tell me (or direct me to) the

official position that each group holds toward the other group (i.e., what does the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints think of Scientology and what does Scientology think of Mormonism)?

but most religions seem to give off a vibe that other religions are full of shit, even while pretending to be tolerant of them. I mean think about it - if you have the true word, the other guys have to be fakers.

toward other religions.

I am a Catholic atheist (which is a long story that I won't bore you with) and so I have familiarity with the Catholic church. Catholics (both individually in my experience and as a matter of official church doctrine) have a more ecumenical attitude toward the Episcopalian and Lutheran churches and a more skeptical view toward Mormonism and Scientology. I generally understand this is because of the liturgical similarities among the Catholic and Episcopalian and Lutheran churches.

I don't have similar familiarity with how other faiths view each other (or how other atheists view the various faiths) and I am curious about this issue.

I noticed that Scientology's official magazine "Freedom" had an interview with LDS science fiction author Orson Scott Card. I have the sense that at lease some Scientologists think that LDS might be allies in a fight for religious freedom and pluralism.

LDS is based on belief, and I do not think that Scientology is based on belief. I think that both groups stand against a sort of establishment consensus that anything other than a few "mainstream" spiritual/religous groups are to be considered as "cults." In that sense, that may be tactically allied.

label does not seem helpful in any any discussion (I tend to think of "cult" as a term of disrespect for another person's religious beliefs).

I wonder if Scientology will be around in a century and, if so, whether it will be more accepted as a mainstream religion.
