What Jurassic World actor just said about Christianity will probably ruin his career

No it won't. This is just such Christian Persecution Bullshit.
There is no indication that Pratt's career is going anywhere but up, he is the star of the biggest movie of the year and is talked about to be the new Indiana Jones.
The mindset of these RW religious assholes is truly nauseating.

it's part of the ethos, the whole cultural story of Christianity....which is why we get the unintended hilarity of Christians claiming they are being targeted, and wars are being waged against them, in an overwhelmingly Christian country.

I have an idea! Let's really mess with their heads and elect a Jewish guy, right after the Mooslim!

As you say, it's more of the "we're being persecuted!" nonsense. It's the type of drivel I'd expect from Allen West.

If being a Scientologist doesn't ruin careers then being something as conventional as a Christian certainly won't.

That article mentions something called "Friends of Abe".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friends_of_Abe

I'd never heard of it before, but it's a group for "politically conservative Hollywood elite". "Abe" is Abraham Lincoln, which reflects the conservative practice of trying to equate themselves and their beliefs with Lincoln. Of course their use of his name, rather than reflecting any political commonality, is simply cynical PR that persuades pretty much nobody.

finally get what real persecution is about.

Of burn a whole bunch of their churches down.

They truly have no idea of the meaning of the word persecution.

And in his last big role he played a character who boasted about fucking aliens! That's practically bestiality, and almost as bad as gay marriage!

I guess Mr. West is prepared to overlook all of that when he can focus on a few pious ramblings Pratt made.

that he's going to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and the inevitable Jurassic World sequel, and might be the next Indiana Jones, his career is OMGRUINED because he talked about his faith in a country where most people are members of his faith.

no surprise there, given the demographics of this country, but that doesn't make him conservative. Given the friends he has, including some of other religions and possibly non-believers, he's most likely a liberal Christian, or at least a moderate.

ON EDIT: I doubt he's a Kirk Cameron. His mainstream career ended because he refused to work with people in a secular workplace or context.

yes he's a Christian, but there isn't much about him being conservative. He is into guns, but believes in registration and background checks.

And then there is the very idea that conservatives in Hollywood are shunned and don't get work.
Non-working conservative actors like Kelsey Grammer, Bruce Willis, that politician Arnold Whatsanugger and that director guy from the GOP convention, Clint something. No work for them?
