(5,705 posts)Jesus didn't have a monopoly on helping others, nor do Christians. Nowhere in the Christian Bible is it commanded or even suggested that Jesus sought love and worship. And I'm not buying the BS that when Jesus commanded people to love the Lord, that he was talking about himself.
Disclaimer: I'm a member of a Christian church, and I've found that helping others is a total kick in the butt, regardless of how much I agree with the theology of the church (or not).

(36,557 posts)I saw some guy on a street corner this morning - waving a sign. The two tax places in town have people doing that, so I slowed to read the sign.
"Honk if U Love Jesus."
No one was honking.
Think how much more he would have accomplished if he had gone up the street just a little bit further, & volunteered that time he stood by the road, working at the food bank instead.
