(1,092 posts)I looked, most are dead... some a long time. I guess maybe the article means they / their teachings should be ignored or such.

(19,288 posts)And I'm not sure banned from what other than the Evangelical Movement, itself. So obviously this is mostly rhetoric. I enjoyed reading the ideas they espoused.

(15,238 posts)in my opinion being banned would not be so bad. A few hundred years ago I would have risked being burnt at the stake by more than a few Christian sects even today the murdererous nature of some Evangelical Christians lies below the surface. The Evangelical concept of Diety is not inviting a heaven full of them sounds like hell.

(38,311 posts)Hell is only temporary? Oh no, far worse that that. Bad people have to live with all the good souls they tried to crush forever. Being thrown into a fiery pit would be mercy compared to that.
That all good people are saved? Yes. Good dogs and horses too. Maybe even a few cats. (Don't feel sad for the cats. They tend to be more interested in reincarnation. Preferably as a tiger.)
That the atonement is not about Gods wrath being poured out on Jesus in our place? Yes.
That Scripture is errant? No, it's metaphor and garbled human language, as all human languages are. And sometimes the person holding the pen was and asshole. You want the greater certainty of math and physics? You'd better go study math and physics.
