If Notre Dame was the family pet the kind thing would be to ...

.... take it to the vet and stop it from suffering.

28 to 0 @ halftime.

Well that means OSU will be the only undefeated team @ the end of the season
so they should be the REAL NATIONAL CHAMPS.

ND is still in the early phase of rebuilding, but the fact that they became #1 this year and earned a bid to the Championship game shows that Kelly has the ND football program on the right track. In 2-3 years, I can see ND winning a championship game.

The experience the returning ND players had during this game and the weeks leading up to it will do more for them and the program than any speech any great coach could give them. This year they learned what they have to do to get to the title game, now they know what they have to do to win it.

speed on the lines, strong at all positions (Alabama's nose guard 600+ LBS bench press),
and real skill @ the skill positions too.

The Crimson Tide's 1st half against both LSU and N.D. the last two championship games
were just brutal.

I hope Kelly keeps N.D. @ a top level because along with Ohio State and Michigan college
(big time) football is better when they are strong.

especially since he used to coach in the SEC. Before the game, he was saying that he'd rather be on the field coaching, but after the game, he looked scared. When asked after the game what Kelly should do, Meyer said to start making phone calls and recruit harder. Now we know what he will do.

Kelly has the #1 recruiting class coming this Fall, so Kelly is way ahead of Meyer on that issue.

Before the game, I suspected Kelly knew that ND was outmatched. He looked calm and relieved that the game was finally going to start. I don't think that the Div II schools have to wait a month and a half to play their championship game and of course, they don't get the media attention the Div I game gets. Kelly told the ESPN analyst the obvious, if ND can stop Bama's run game, then they had a chance, if not it was going to be a long night. The experience at a title game is something that you can't coach or prep a team for. The Experience for the returning players is the teacher in this game. I don't think Kelly would trade the experience in this title game, painful as it was, for an "easy" win at another BCS bowl game. The players will learn more from this loss and experience at the title game than anything Kelly can devise at practice.

Please! Urban went 12 - 0 w/ the same team that went 6-7 last year ....
he is getting real talent into OSU right now.

Ranking recruiting classes really means little .... wait until you see how they
play on the field ...... AJ Hawk was the last picked in his class and Mike A'ndrea was
the stud ..... Mike never played but AJ did ..... Justin Zwick was the golden boy QB
and Troy Smith was #3 or #4 on the depth chart.

BTW name the only undefeated big time school? OSU

Notre Dame made it to the title game.

Many other universities didn't.

Even if a team loses 100-0 in the championship game, it still had a superb season just by sheer virtue of advancing that far.
