In 1975, I watched the KC Royals playing the Detroit Tigers in Detroit. Tony Solaita, KC first baseman (and power-hitter a la Harmon Killebrew) launched one OUT of Tiger Stadium. I think it was estimated at 525 feet! I don't think I've ever seen a longer home run hit in my lifetime. It was astonishing to see it CLEAR the right-field third deck of the stadium and sail OUT of the park! WOW!
