Steve Nash would listen to Miami Heat as free agent

Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash, one of the top free agents this summer, joined the Dan Patrick Show this afternoon and made some comments that made ripples around the league.

"I'm not coming back to the Suns if there isn't improvement," Nash told Patrick.

Nash explained he's expecting the Suns to try to make those improvements, but that he's looking forward to becoming a free agent and deciding where to continue his career.

"I would listen," Nash said. "He's phenomenal. I love what they're doing there. A lot of people don't like them because they put all that talent there. But they're professional, they play hard, they play together. Their coaching staff has done a great job, so I have a tremendous amount of respect for them.

"I would definitely listen."

I used to laugh at trade rumors when it was obvious to me it was never going to happen. Nash always said he wants to be Sun and management always said they want Nash. I remember one quote, I'm paraphrasing. "I'd rather solve our problems with Nash, rather than trading Nash." Nash is right though, he always made it clear he wanted to be a Sun until recently.

I know Lebron had that lead for the longest time and were neck-and-neck for awhile but he is slightly ahead of Lebron in that category. He is probably the best ball distributor this season, he has 11 15+ assist games this season. I believe Rando is #2 in that category with 4 15+ assist games.

They don't need Nash really. He is one of the all time greats and still one of the best pg in the game.

but I don't think it would be a great fit. Lebron and wade need to have the ball in their hands and Nash dominates the ball.

I'd have to root for Miami to see Steve finally get a ring? Yikes!
