Grayson Allen Now Polling Above Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio Among Republican Voters

DURHAM, NC — Duke Blue Devils guard Grayson Allen is now sitting ahead of both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio in the most recent national polling of likely Republican voters following Thursday night’s Texas debate and Allen tripping another guy.

A Quinnipiac poll of registered Republican voters released this morning finds that Donald Trump leads with 39-percent, followed by Allen with 27-percent and then Cruz and Rubio at 11-percent.

“I think we’re seeing a move towards Allen among Republicans who feel that Trump isn’t quite petty and immature enough for their tastes,” said Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer. “While Trump might try to negotiate and find common ground with Democrats and foreign leaders, Allen would likely just attempt to trip them or push them down stairs and then pretend it was an accident. That’s the kind of leadership the Republican base wants right now, and the fact that he’s white and from Duke only helps.”

With a new top challenger in Grayson identified, Trump immediately took to attacking Allen on Twitter. “Grayson Allen is a chocker and a lightweight who didn’t even start in last year’s NCAA title game,” he posted a @realDonaldTrump . “Backups won’t make America great again.”

1. Elbow Him in the Face

I realize this piece is partly satire, but I think an opposing player needs to elbow Grayson Allen in the face. At first I thought Allen needed to be elbowed in the face and kicked in the balls, but I now think the kick to the balls is too harsh of a retaliation for a guy who has only tripped a few people.
